Differential GPS Technology is integrated with Geographical Information System (GIS) and wireless communication technologies to create end-to-end fleet management and navigation systems. The system includes Vehicle Mounted Units (VMUs) that generate position data and a Central Monitoring Station (CMS) from where the fleet is monitored and controlled in realtime. The VMU generates data relating to travel pattern, traffic potential, bottlenecks etc. which in turn help in evolving a transport model. This system supports a wide variety of communication systems including VHF/UHF, Public Mobile Trunk Radio System, GSM or mobile satellite communication networks for communication between the vehicles and the CMS. Nirdeshak, in the Mining sector Dynamine, CMC's Operator Independent Truck Despatch System , incorporates sophisticated despatch algorithms that possess the capability to redirect dumpers and shovels dynamically, to ensure higher levels of productivity, avoid downtime, streamline the utilization of the fleet and aid in effective time and resource management. It also helps in attendance recording of drivers, and preventive maintenance by proactively monitoring the vital parameters of the engine and other subsystems of the vehicle. Nirdeshak, and Public Safety services When time is of essence, when pinpointing locations is crucial, when the turnaround time has to be minimised, Nirdeshak comes in handy. Be it the ambulance service, fire brigade, police, or paramilitary forces...public safety can now achieve never before response times by interfacing a special Computer Aided Despatch System with the existing communication network, GIS and Dial 100 / 911 systems. Nirdeshak, a part of the mass transport sector The system is tuned to monitor and report the scheduled bus routes, stops and travelling speeds at various locations. Performance Report and Exceptions Report based on the data so collected, help in taking effective steps to ensure adherence to time schedules. The Nirdeshak application software also generates billing details. The Real Time Passenger Information System (RTPIS) provides updates on the expected arrival and departure time of buses. Within the coach, it alerts passengers as to the approaching station. Large display boards in major terminuses display the information so generated.

Nirdeshak, for personal use As a personal navigation system, it utilizes the strength of mobile asset management features, permitting the user to locate the nearest hotel, hospital or police station, find the shortest route, calculate the distance covered, etc. Third party products including PDAs and pocket PCs can be used for this solution.
