Study areas around school If you want to survive law school, it is important that you have a study habit that works for you. A major factor on developing an effective study habit is relying on the best study area suited for your study needs. This article will provide you insights on where to study near our law campus. Some of you may favor studying at home or at coffee shops near your home but based on the experiences of the first 2 batches, having an idea on where to study near the campus is essential. It is effective for group discussions and studying immediately before or after classes. Other students also prefer to study near the school because for them, home will only be a place for relaxation. The following are study areas near our law campus. This also provides the pros and cons of these study areas in order for you to know the best place suited especially for you or even to your future study groups. DLSU Law Library nd Where: 2 Floor Andrew Building Time: 7am 10pm Pros: This is also one of the nearest study areas from yo ur classrooms. Youll be able to also have access to the different law books as well as the Lex Libris, online database of cases and laws. The library has a Wi-Fi connection for its students also. It also has a study room that is useful for group discussions. There are two photocopying machines available for you and your study groups copying needs. Cons: The law school library does not fit a lot of students so you might have a problem looking for tables during class hours. Similar to the Study Area, the library Wi-Fi is also a struggle to get during the schools busy hours. If you want to photocopy notes, you might experience falling in a long line. In order for you to use the study room, you must reserve it first from the librarian. The library does not allow eating inside so you must go outside the school for you to eat. Also, if youre a smoker, you must also go outside the campus for your cigarette break. Bro. Andrew Study Area th Where: 15 Floor Bro. Andrew Building Time: 7am 10pm Pros: This is one of the nearest study areas from your classrooms. This study area is divided into the undergraduate and the graduate students section. The latter is given priority so graduate students can study in any of the sections. The format of the rooms is useful for study group meetings, self-studying, and writing case digests. This study area also has Wi-Fi, which is useful for downloading cases or relaxing through your occasional Facebook breaks. Cons: The undergraduate student section might be a bit noisy for a law student during the afternoons because of the possible group discussions of the different undergraduate students. The graduate student section, on the other hand, only fits a handful of students. It can only fit about 30 students more or less. The Wi-Fi in this place is a struggle to get. You wont have a clear signal all of the time. Youll get the clearest signal during evenings. This study area does not allow eating in side so you must go outside the school to have a snack. Also, if youre a smoker, you must go outside the campus for your cigarette break. DLSU Main Library Where: Main campus, beside Bro. Miguel Building Time: 7am 8pm Pros: This is a great place to study alone because peace and quiet is encouraged here. The library provides numerous seats so youll be assured of a study spot. The air -conditioning in this place is superb and youll have maximum comfort studying in this place. The Wi-Fi connection here is very strong and very reliable. Cons: Youll have to walk about 5-10 minutes from the Andrew building to get to this place. Bags are not allowed inside the library (unlike the law library) so you must deposit your bag and you must carry by hand all your study materials. You cannot eat inside the library, although a CBTL is located at the ground floor of the library. For smokers, you must go outside the campus in order for you to smoke. Going to a nearest smoking spot would take a 5-minute walk.
