KROHNE have now completed a few projects
using the OPTIMASS 2000 for Oil in Mud
recovery processing
The flow splitter helps control the flow of the
mud reducing erosion.
The velocity flow rate through the meter is very
low (2m/s).
Therefore to eliminate dropout from suspension
the meter is mounted vertically.

Loading Rack in Kazakhstan
The installation is a two-sided rail tanker loading rack for
loading oil of commercial quality.
60 Optimass 7300 T50s are used for measuring the loading
from the respective tanks.
This loading rack is installed at the Western Branch of
KazTransOil J SC in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. KazTransOil is the
national oil transporter in Kazakhstan accounting for 80% of
all oil transported in the country and operates more than
6,400 km of oil pipelines and 3,140 km of water pipelines.

A Swiss OEM had tried to use an established European mass flow meter for high
viscosity, aerated ink components. Some components worked well others the meter
stopped measuring. They saw a demo rig for EGM at Achema, in J une 2012.
We installed a trail meter in their test facility and within two hours the customer was
happy to continue the trial on their own.

The trail has resulted in an order

An International paint manufacture has air some paint production processes.
Historically they have used a Foxboro product but this has a very high pressure drop.
They now tested Krohne and the other leading European manufacturer

Comments
The test results are a good example of the enhanced performance of the Optimass
6400
Meter continued to measure even with 50/50 mixture of water/air
All mass flow measuring errors were <5%
Errors were reproducible with similar conditions
Better results are obtained when the liquid/gas are well mixed, and at higher
nominal flowrates.
When selecting meter, try to avoid over-sizing!
