ABOUT THE INSTITUTION Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is a premier institution of higher education operating under the aegis of DAV College Managing Committee(DAV CMC), New Delhi. DAVCMC is the largest NGO in India dedicated to the cause of education. It is successfully running more than 700 institutions in India and abroad. Foundation of the college was laid by Mahatma Hans Raj in the year 1927 at Lahore, Pakistan. After Independence, the college was shifted to Jalandhar, Punjab, India. The college has been granted the status of a College with Potential for Excellence by the UGC. National Accreditation and Assessment Council, Bangalore (NAAC) has re- accredited the institute with CGPA SCORE of 3.83 out of 4, the HIGHEST AMONG THE COLLEGES IN INDIA. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Department of Commerce was established in the year 1983 with the start of B.Com. Course. Later on B.B.A and M.Com. classes were started and it was upgraded as Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Management. Focusing on the development of the new cadre of business professionals with the global vision, the Department constantly organizes various activities like placement drives, industrial visits, corporate mentor programmes to provide exposure and experience to the students for their all round growth and development. Tribune Survey April 2013 has adjudged the department as one of the 10 best colleges imparting commerce education in North India. The department also brings out annual issue of research journal 'Commerce Spectrum- A Journal of Commerce and Business Studies', ISSN 2249-992X. THE HOST CITY JALANDHAR It is the oldest city in Punjab at a distance of about 84 Kms. southeast of Amritsar, the holy city of Punjab. Jalandhar is the 'sports city of India' as it has not only the finest sports industry but also a large number of sportsmen. The monuments in and around the city include 800 years old Imam Nasir Mosque and Devi Talab Mandir. How to reach Jalandhar It is well connected by road and train. Nearest Airport is Raja Sansi Airport, Amritsar at a distance of 90 Kms. It is at a distance of 350 Kms from Delhi and is well connected by road and trains. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Around the world the business organization are going through a period of almost tectonic changes brought by highly competitive, complex, turbulent and demanding business environment. New realities are unfolding, new business and economic issues are emerging. The changing scenario calls for examining and redefining leadership and management practices more suited in a new world of change and transformation. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES The abstract must indicate clearly the Title of the Paper, Objectives, Research Methodology, its Implications and contribution to existing body of knowledge, Name, Address, E-mail ID and Contact Number of the author(s) .The length of the abstract should not exceed 300 words. The full paper should not be more than 2000 words, with 12 font size, Times New Roman font style and single line spacing. All abstracts/papers should be sent by email to iccilm.hmv2013@gmail.com before 31st October, 2013 PUBLICATION OF PAPERS All papers submitted will be reviewed through a double blind review process. The papers selected and recommended by the Editorial Board will be published in the edited book bearing ISBN No. Those who cannot come to Jalandhar but wish to present a paper in absentia are encouraged to send in their abstract and full papers. Papers presented in absentia are also eligible for publication .
