Layout
Layouts should conform to using these proportions as a guide to your working area. It may be broken if your content requires you to do so. It must be used as a reference for title placement and where text and images will sit or hang from.

note Also
Set hyphenation to affect words longer than 6 characters. Hyphenate at least 3 letters. You can import the paragraph and character styles from this file and are encouraged to do so. This will guarantee a consistent look and feel across all training materials no matter what the object in question is. Scale and transform the above vector to fit your working area. By using the horizontal and vertical lines you can quickly make a pleasing layout regardless of the content. A layout with multiple columns will have gutters of 7pt wide. In a modular grid, the space between the rows should be 11pt high as to line up best with the text for print use and 12pt for screen use. Important sections of text should be coloured. Yes, the whole paragraph. This makes it more engaging to read while enforcing a visual hierarchy. You may find when working on hand outs and other print items that a 9pt grid helps keeping track an otherwise complicated layout. Keep a 9pt safety area from the sides of the page should the margins be too big in a horizontal layout. Dont bold the text if you can, use colour or italics. Group information and use icons and images as much as possible to make learning more memorable.

Bold text
Is not actually bolded, just bigger and sans serif. Only bold text if the documents publication is limited to black and white production. This keeps the document light, minimal and clean and the text inviting and readable. You should want to read the text, it should look light and easy.

FOOTER Tag line

Homes Run Better On Reliance should be on the bottom of the page as displayed. In the case of a double sided handout, just the last page. It should be aligned to the left side and extend to the edge of the active area as shown below or bleed off the page.

The intent is to have the serif type compliment icons which tell most of the story.

image handling
The power point should have a ratio of 17:20 or 720px by 612px. Or, simply put, letter size with a landscape orientation. Again, you should apply the proportions to align all of the elements in the layout, especially pictures, icons and text-boxes as per the examples below. 7-9pt is a suggested minimum margin from other elements. Hide proportional guide in final export.

Note how the main graphic falls in the triangle and the text hangs in the lower region.

This is more a center weighted, 2 column layout. The icon and text boxes all match up with the two lines defining the center region.

The proportional guide in this case is used for the text to hang from. Dont forget to use your 7pt gutters!

Keep the text minimal. If you need to add some columns underneath that is acceptable. Crop along the guides. 7pt gutter.

Video
Start each video, stand alone or small clip with the Reliance animated logo clip which fades out for one second. Typically, video clips will be embeded into a powerpoint for text screens.

Be sure to use establishing shots illustrating the setting the team mate will be working in.

End each video showing the house icons and the value propisition.
