cowboy had a Winchester rifle and ammo. The company had small beginnings but with a few new designs like the side loading rifle and the lever action, the company has given the people the innovations that we today take for granted. Winchester supported our troops with ammunition and rifles through two world wars. Going bankrupt due to rising labor costs, the company was sold to a Belgium company who moved the rifle production to Japan. The American born company is now international and its name is still as strong as it was in the American west.

Target group: American Gun Enthusiasts

Winchester changed how it was making its firearms and there was a public outcry. At first the reputation was ruined and an unknown amount of money was lost due to poor marketing. This needs not to happen again. The United States Homeland Security has purchased 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition. This is great for our company but has created a public shortage and again there has been a public outcry. Right now the Homeland Security is taking the blame for the shortage, but the American people have a bad taste in their mouth when it comes to buying ammunition. Supply and demand has increased the sales of ammunition to a point of pushing away future customers. This governments purchase will slowly be filled and we will have to face the American people as our main customers. My idea is to bring back Winchesters American spirit. The cowboy is what made Winchester great then and it can make it great again. Lets get Winchester back to its roots. We will brand our boxes in a way that will show the American people that Winchester has not forgotten its first and most loyal customers. The boxes will bring a feel of 1866 and all its traditions. This is a shift from the more current mass production look to a feeling of a loyal, and classic American company. This will sooth over the American people and increase future sales by creating loyal customers to our company.

Big Idea: Winchesters history is clear and we can learn from past mistakes. In the 1960s
