HOME MISSION SUNDAY On this home Mission Sunday, 20th October, we are asked to pray for the mission of the Church in England and Wales. There will be a retiring collection NEXT WEEKEND to support the Bishops work of evangelisation. If you wish to Gift Aid your donation there are some envelopes available in the Church porches. MASS CHANGE There will be no 9.30am Mass on Monday morning, Mass will be at 11.00am in Our Lady of Peace Junior School for their Feast Day. WE WELCOME the children from Class 6EC, Our Lady of Peace Junior School, to the 9.30am Mass on Tuesday. PARISH MASS COUNT Week Two of the annual count will be carried out over this weekend. ST GILBERT'S MEETING Mgr Sen Healy (Diocesan Vicar General) and Canon Kevin O'Driscoll (Slough Pastoral Area Dean) will be joining us for a Parish open meeting at St Gilbert's Church, Eton Wick, next Saturday, 19th October at 2.00pm, to discuss further the potential closure of St Gilbert's in light of the proposals for the Slough Pastoral Area. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2014 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2014, you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2014 and will be held at St Andrews on Saturday mornings. The first enrolment date will be on Thursday, 17th October between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, the second date will be Wednesday, 23rd October between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. They will both be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. You will also need to bring with you a copy of the childs Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting. BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. Please leave the names of any relatives and friends you wish to be entered in the Book of Remembrance by Sunday, 20 th October, for the book to be ready for the 1 st November. Kindly print the names clearly if the names have already been entered there is no need to enter them again. Please return names to the Presbytery. HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November. COME AND SEE Are you thinking of becoming a Catholic? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church has started, it will run on Thursdays, from 7.30pm-8.45pm in the Presbytery. Further enquiries please see poster in Church porches, or telephone 01908 669735. SCHOOL OF MARY Our Lady of Peace Church is running a course on the School of Mary led by Jean Khoury, BS, MA. Teachings include 3 segments: Initiation into Spirituality, Praying with Scripture and Hearing the Voice of God starting on Monday, 21st October from 7.00pm to 9:30 pm. Each segment is 6 lessons and costs 10 per lesson. Come, learn and experience a personal relationship with Jesus, deep purification and transformation in Christ and new maturity.
