Studying bisphosphonate associated osteonecrosis of the jaw, specifically, the mevalonate independent pathway in which Zoledronic Acid effects the SOCS 3 enzyme. Research consists of introduction to BCA protein assays, Western Blot and Elisa protocol as well as cell culturing procedures. At the conclusion of the summer term a written abstract and presentation at the AADR meeting in Tampa, Florida are expected goals. June 2011Aug 2011 RESEARCH ASSISTANT, University of Houston-Department of Chemistry under the direction of a doctoral candidate reporting to Dr. Edwin Carrasquillo, associate profession in the department of chemistry. The research explored the electrical and chemical configuration of crystals, non-crystalline materials and various other organic molecules. I mainly assisted in organizing information, mostly NMR spectroscopy diagrams, and assisting in determining the molecular structure of the tested molecules from graphs. The research opportunity also consisted of reading of research articles applicable to the present research to be included in the doctoral candidates thesis presentation. January 2006- August 2007

STUDENT RESEARCHER-RESEARCH STUDY ABROAD, University of Ghana and University of Science and Technology Kumasi. Ghana, Africa. This was a research shadowing experience conducted by medical doctors interested in the animal vector transmission of Malaria and how to recognize a malaria infection that is dormant in the liver with no systemic signs. I assisted in microscopic blood smear analysis, etiological organization of disease populations and organization of medical record charts.
