Essentials for Survival Clothing

1. Formals For boys: a. At least 3 formal shirts light pastel colors, no stripes and should be full sleeves. Dark colored shirts are not allowed. b. Dark colored plain trousers without any stripes. c. At least one complete set of western suit with blazer and trouser of same (preferably black). d. Tie without very colorful patterns (avoid bling colors like red). e. Black formal shoes (with lace). For girls: a. At least 3 formal shirts light pastel colours, no stripes, full sleeves or threequarters sleeves. Dark coloured shirts or shirts with self-design are not allowed. b. Dark coloured plain trousers without any stripes. c. At least one complete set of western suit with blazer and trouser of same (preferably black). d. You are also allowed to wear plain cotton sarees in light pastel colours (sleeveless blouses not allowed). e. Skirts and Salwaar Kurtas are NOT considered formal. f. Black formal closed toe shoes/sandals. 2. Smart Casuals For boys: a. Collared T-shirts (Plain/Strips but no design). These are also for semi-formal occasions, min. 2, 3 is ideal) b. Jeans c. Sports shoes For girls: a. Salwaar Kurtas with sleeve are admissible with closed toe shoes/sandals. b. Collared t-shirts (Plain/Strips but no design). These are also for semi-formal occasions, min. 2, 3 is ideal) c. Jeans d. Sports shoes 3. Normal Clothing (at your discretion, but do wear decent stuff to class) 4. Belt(s) 5. Pajamas or other night-wear 6. Sportswear, as needed, not really necessary 7. Plenty of socks 8. Flip flops (a college essential) 9. For the winter (whatever is applicable. Its okay if you dont buy these immediately. Things are available for cheap rates around MDI during that time):

a. Thick pullovers b. Sweaters c. Shawl d. Gloves e. Thermocots f. Mufflers g. Skull Caps 10. Towels (bathing towel and hand towel) 11. Bathroom slippers & Flip flops 12. Ethnic wears for occasions like Dandiya Night, Diwali, etc

Bathroom Essentials
These things are available at the Sector 14 market, and quite a bit of it are available at Prayas, the student run store in MDI too.

Toothbrush and Toothpaste Razors and shaving cream Shampoo and Conditioner Soap (Bathing and hand washing) Deodorant Brush/comb Fingernail/toenail clippers Gel/hair spray Perfume/cologne Mouthwash Bucket and mug Lotions, moisturizers, whatever such things you use

First-Aid Essentials
1. Band aids and other first aid essentials like ointment, cotton, etc. 2. Anything needed for contact lenses or glasses 3. Aspirin and other must-have over-the-counter medications for conditions you may have, like allergies, stomachache, etc. Its better to have these on hand now than have to get them when you feel awful. Things like vitamins and cough drops are good to have. 4. Move/Volini Gel or Spray 5. Crape Band-Aid

Washing Essentials

Electronics and Appliances

Desktop/Laptop not really necessary, but good to have one Power strip with many outlets (as there would be two power outlets in each room, so for charging and using various gadgets will be a problem without it) Chargers for anything that uses one: cell phones, iPods, electric razors, cameras, etc. Batteries for anything that needs them: remote controls, alarm clocks, MP3 players, etc. Speakers/ Headphones LAN Cable (preferably 5m at least) USB Pen drive/External Hard disk with good collection of movies (luking 4wd 2 ur contribution 2 it) Dont bring irons, rooms mcb trips.

Room Essentials
A few of them are available at Prayas. Rest can be purchased from Sector 14 market.

Pillow and Mattress Bed sheets and Pillow cover (two sets at least). Blankets/Quilts. Make sure you have enough to keep you warm, and its good to have an extra, for whatever reason. Posters & pictures to decorate your room if you wish Storage containers, as needed Hangers to put all of your clothes on. (At least a dozen) Post-It notes Mirror Desert Coolers (Available in Sec-14 market)

Stationary

5. Calculator (Scientific F991/ incase you are planning to give CFA then CFA specific calculator) 6. A4 sheets rim 7. Dictionary, thesaurus, writer's guide (for those who are creatively inclined, for others Google might just be sufficient) 8. Glue, Scissors, Cello-tape 9. Paper clips 10. Stapler and staples 11. Reading lamp (in case your room-mate prefers to sleep early & you want to be awake, reading, which wont happen). 12. Pen holder 13. Document holder bag (in order to keep all the tutorial sheets and assignments and case studies safe).

Daily Usage Things


1. Alarm clock (needed to get you up after the night long party/study/doing nothing) 2. Eye cover 3. Water Bottle

Documents
1. Get all your certificates (as listed by the letter) and also you will need them for your CV. (Preferably, as many authentic certificates after class 10th) 2. If you've worked previously and have some documentation and other stuff that might help you or your peers in getting something more out of the program then it is recommended too. 3. Don't forget any of those documents that a bank wants for education loans. 4. Also carry Passport (or photocopy) 5. Have photocopy or soft copy of your parents voters-ID, Permanent Address Proof.

Misc
