(4, No. 8, 992-99, 1991) TI: Inhaled Nedocromil Sodium as Additional Treatment to High Dose Inhaled Corticosteroids in the Management of Bronchial Asthma. AB: A double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled study favored inhaled nedocromil Na (NC) over placebo for improvement of symptoms and pulmonary function in 35 bronchial asthmatics using high dose inhaled beclometasone dipropionate or budesonide and inhaled bronchodilators with or without theophylline tablets. Additional NC treatment was superior to placebo for reduction in daytime symptoms, increase in morning peak expiratory flow (PEF) and clinical opinion. Side-effects of NC included bitter/bad taste, dizziness, vomiting. 1 of 22 AN: 91-50959 TG: G LA: E-English PN: 29 69 AU: Magenheim-B; Benita-S LO: Jerusalem, Isr. CO: 8645M JN: STP-Pharm.Sci. (1, No. 4, 221-41, 1991) TI: Nanoparticle Characterization: A Comprehensive Physicochemical Approach. AB: Nanoparticles (NP) are reviewed with regard to size, surface morphology, cha rge, polymer molecular weight (MW), turbidity, drug content and release, biodegr adation, sterility/apyrogenicity and stability. Incorporated drugs include amik acin, amphoteric EX: Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has been used to study NP size, morpholog y, surface roughness and porosity, but surfactants can hinder SEM observation of NP. The effects of manufacturing parameters on NP size and morphology have bee n studies using Department of Pharmacy, School of Pharmacy, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, P.O.
