OUTCOMES

CB 4.1 Students analyse Christian beliefs about the ways God reveals himself as one God: Father, Son and Hold Spirit. Students/ learners profile UNIT OVERVIEW Students will examine their concept of God as Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Students look at various images of God Prior learning/ interests/ needs of students and key Bible passages to find out the different names referring to the trinity. Students explore how God communicates with us through his word, as a person, through Jesus and the spirit. Variety of religious backgrounds including atheist and some very open & strong Christians. Students are familiar with technology use. Male members of the class are often hard to engage.

They are to create at least one image that relates to God. Students appropriateness of representations for God and the Trinity. Ensure that regular checks are done of student progress on work and assessment. Allow for alternative methods of communication of ideas use of iPads to record ideas, consultation with teacher to complete explanation of topics, group work to complete tasks where appropriate. Allow for digital versions of drawings if students prefer this method.

Brainstorm symbols, words, pictures, images which are used to describe God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit, burning bush, Garden of Eden). Draw into book in a Y Chart. Discuss each and how they symbolise God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Identify which ones students have seen and which ones they relate to

most. Look at bible stories/verses for each one

Students discuss the concept of the trinity in more depth. Investigate symbols such as the Shamrock and how they represent the trinity. Students create their own image of the Trinity from a real life example and explain how it relates.

Year 6 & 7

Students are to choose from one of the songs and put images of God with the song. Students may be able to brain storm appropriate songs. They are to create at least one image that relates to God of their own.

Week 4 Labour Day


Work on Assessment task focussing on Jesus Images and related Bible Verses. Week 5 Work on Assessment task focussing on God Images and related Bible Verses.

Work on Assessment task focussing on Holy Spirit Images and related Bible Verses. Assessment Due at the end of Week 6. It will be presented to the class by listening to the song and the student having their images run on the screen. Students will also have captions under pictures to tell the audience of what the picture means to them. There needs to be 1 image for each part of the Trinity created by the students (either by a picture they have taken or one they have drawn/created)

Week 6

Week 7 - 10
Students investigate some leaders in the bible and how God communicated with them and the images of God that are created by reading about it. Characters could include Moses, Gideon, Solomon, and Nehemiah. Students look at some past and present day examples of Christian leaders and discuss how they acted and hypothesise how God communicated with them.

Use the Leaders in the Bible worksheet to go through each leader in the bible and the bible verses that go with this leader.
