Craft of Storytelling Video: The Crow and the fox storytelling contest (Philippines)

Voice projection: Clear voice Loud, full with energy It brings enthusiasm on stage, so audience can easily understand the story Diction The choice of words is simple. Her pronunciation is influenced by her mother tongue. Some words are not pronounced clearly.

3) Poise She portrays her self-confidence by appearing comfortably on the stage. When her props drop, she immediately covering up her mouth and apologize to the audience. It shows she already has experiences in storytelling and enough practices. She can easily connect her feelings throughout the story with audiences. 4) Gesture - Good use of hand and body gesture It is natural and has smooth flow from the meaning of what the storyteller trying to convey. Act out the characters very well. The storyteller is able to gesture the storyline that helps the audience to access the story in the way the storyteller intends. The storyteller illustrates the character of the crow and the fox by standing in certain way. The audience are able to imagine the characteristics of the animals by the gesture. 5) Facial Expressions - Very good facial expression. It is dramatic and a little bit over exaggerated. - She is able communicates the feelings and emotion of the characters very well - Good eye contact with the audience. She is able to engage the audience at the beginning of the story.

-She tells the story in conversational manner. -Her facial expressions have heightened the characterization and attract the audience to listen to her story.

6) Body Movement She walks around the stage to show the actions in the story It provides the mood and atmosphere of the story to the audience Attract the audience attention instead of standing permanently at the same place during storytelling - This non-verbal communication is expressed by moving the body through time, weight and space 7) Time -It is 4 minutes and 7 seconds. -Appropriate time for a storytelling. -Attention span of pupils is around 8 to minutes. -The storyteller is able to wrap the story in time. 8) Intonation Intonation: At one time low, at one time high. Depends on the scene told by the storyteller. Can attract attention of audiences Silly voices for different characters. Change the tone of the voice (shouting, whispering) where it relevant. -

9) Props Stimulate visual attention of audiences. Kids will learn how to use their imagination as they visualize the stories in their minds. Helps them repeat the story, as they become close to the story, and feel a part of it.
