32 TT fast-erecting crane
in St. Johann, Austria.
The construction site for a new six-storey sports store in
St. Johann, Austria was surely predestined for the 32 TT:
Despite the exceptionally restricted space available for setting
up equipment on the site, the crane had to have a working radi-
us of at least 30 metres with a load capacity of 1,000 kilograms
at the end of the jib. To make the task even more difficult, only
four and a half months were available for the construction work:

in other words, the construction work for a complete floor of
the building had to be completed every seven working days.
To ensure that this high rate of material handling was achieved,
the Spiluttini Bau GmbH construction company operated the
new Liebherr 32 TT crane with the tower retracted to a hook
height of 14.5 m so that material could be placed where it was
needed more rapidly. In addition, the jib was retracted as
necessary to provide the load capacity needed for heavy lifting
tasks.
With its unique telescoping tower and jib technology, the
TT crane has established a new performance standard in its
size category. This crane has also decisive advantages in trans-
portation, erection and ballasting.
Its versatility makes the TT crane decisively more cost-effective
for the construction companies that operate it.
Ingeniously planned erecting kinematics enable the TT crane to
raise itself from the transport axles on to the support spindles.
Only one person is needed to make the TT crane ready for use
within 30 minutes of its arrival on the construction site.
Revolutionary ballasting is aided by the erection and hoist
winches, a semi-automatic ballasting grab and a novel method
of ballast centring.
Other innovative details include the multifunctional trolley,
the quick connection, the ballasting grab, the ballast centring,
the automatic re-reeving system and the power supply by way
of a multi-link chain.
