Double Sided Insert with 10 Cutting Edges


DOPENT cutters feature through-the-tool coolant and have a 20 lead angle for smooth entry into the cut. Their integrated wiper provides a finish as good as 20 Ra. The cutters are available in three insert densities and four carbide grades for a wide range of applications. The medium density cutters are an excellent solution for steel applications and the high density cutters for iron and aerospace.

DOOCTO face mill family for medium and rough face milling applications is very efficient and economical. The cutters use double-sided octagonal inserts that feature positive rake angles and 16 cutting edges. They have an economical advantage over any standard ISO tools or over other tools that use octagonal positive inserts for 45o medium and rough face milling. TUNGDRILL BIG indexable drills provide an excellent solution for large diameter holes. They feature replaceable, adjustable cartridges and are the best economical solution for large sized drilling operations. TUNGDRILL TWISTED drills are versatile and feature fast penetration, process security and long life. The extra-hardened chip deflector is located next to the cartridge where wear forces are the most severe, thereby improving shank life. Carbide grades are durable for better surface quality and prolonged edge life in the peripheral inserts, which experience the toughest conditions.

Twisted coolant holes pass through the drill flutes, leaving a clear uninterrupted flow of chips. Due to this design, the drill is stronger and more resistant to torsion. TUNGDRILL TWISTED is available in drilling depth to diameter ratio of 2xD, 3xD, 4xD and 5xD in a diameter range of 12.5 to 54 mm in whole metric sizes, as well as half sizes.

These forces are then converted into gripping forces that are used for tightening the insert towards the back of the pocket. More cutting forces are applied, and therefore better gripping forces are obtained. The clamping forces around the connection area generate little strain, which prevents any potential plastic deformation. Due to this, at least triple the amount of head indexes are provided. TURNTECs unique helical shaped cutting edge and tangentially clamped insert provides a perfect solution for high metal removal rates, enabling the use of very large depths of cut and high feeds, which is especially essential in roughing applications. The double-sided insert has a narrow curved rake face. It is clamped into the toolholder on a corresponding seat using a conical head screw; a design which protects the toolholder from overload and insert damage. This seat has ground surfaces on the top and bottom, which ensures the best connection of the insert and toolholder.
