Introduction
The project under the title "MUSEUM: THE ACTINOGRAPHY OF EUROPEAN PEOPLE " is a cultural project, funded with support from the European Commission , that aims to bring together European citizens and to unite them in a cross-cultural collaboration. The program is based on the idea the cultural awareness can be shaped through educational processes that occur in the Museum. Having regard to its role in the formation of cultural identity of modern young people, the program aims to discover whether the youth are interested in the cultural heritage of their country and as European citizens what measures they propose to be taken to safeguard the richness of cultures in Europe. The countries involved are Greece, Russia and Romania. The participants of each national group aged between thirteen and thirty. All three countries are under historical, cultural and social consideration. Nowadays, in the era of globalization and technological developments, local traditions are more and more in danger. There is a strong need to preserve our cultural heritage and identity. At the same time, as European citizens, there is a need to trace our routes, identify our cultural similarities and promote intercultural dialogue on the basis of our common values and ethics. The program aims to bring together young people from different European countries, to reveal and promote common cultural and humanitarian values that rule the societies of the countries of the project and give them ownership of these values, to contribute to the elimination of the ethnic stereotypes that obstruct the effective understanding, the cooperation and the osmosis of civilizations and cultures, to contribute to the dialogue of cultures, promoting the cooperation, the spirit of understanding, the conservation of the cultural heritage of each nation, and the cultural sustainability, to inspire a sense of active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them to shape Europes future. Chiliomodi Chiliomodi Tenea Project Visit to an ancient cemetery of the Archaic period. Dr. Elena Korka, director of the excavation, will show us the excavation techniques and will speak about the work of the archaeologists, the fight against the illicit trade in antiquities and the effort for their recovery.
