TITILE: HTTP WEB SERVER PLATFORM: Windows 95 Language: Java 1.2 Duration: 2 Months Guided By: Mr.C.Suresh Kumar Working Place: C-DAC Chennai (Silverline Institute for Software Technologies) In this project we created a Web Server which implements the HTTP protocol in order to retrieve web resources identified by URL. The web server created supports the GET request. Our Server program listen for incoming connections on the well known port associated with its service protocol. When a client initiates an incoming connection; the server accepts the connection and typically spawns a separate thread to service that client. The client sends service request over the connection .The server performs the service and then returns the result to the client. An HTTP client can request the HTTP server to transfer a resource file like hypertext document, an image, audio, animation or video file.
