SECTION VI – HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Emergency Overview: May cause some eye and skin irritation, like any soap of detergent.

Effects of Overexposure:
Eyes - Contact may cause mild irritation.
Skin - Contact may cause irritation.

First Aid:
Eye Contact - Immediately flush with copious amounts of water for at least several
minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Skin Contact- Immediately flush with copious amounts of soap and water for at
least 5 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
Ingestion- If swallowed, give 3-4 glasses of water but DO NOT induce vomiting. If
vomiting does occur, give fluids again. Get medical attention to determine
whether vomiting or evacuation of stomach is necessary. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person.
Inhalation- Get person out of contaminated area to fresh air. If breathing is difficult,
administer oxygen. Consult a physician.

Carcinogenicity: Not listed as carcinogenic by IARC, NTP, OASHA

Respiratory Protection: A NIOSH/MSHA jointly approved air supplied respirator is
advised in the absence of proper environmental controls.
Ventilation: Not required – Misting operations may require adequate
ventilation.
Eye Protection: Chemical goggles or full-face shield
Protective Gloves: Gloves should be worn. Gloves may be decontaminated by
washing with mild soap and water. Natural and butyl rubber
have been suggested.
Other Protection: Wear protective clothing to prevent skin contact. Showers and
eyewash facilities should be accessible.

Steps to be taken in case of spill or release: dike and contain spill with inert material (sand, earth,
etc) and transfer the liquid and solid separately to containers for recovery or disposal. Flush to
industrial sewer.

Handling and Storage: Spilled material is quite slippery. Keep container closed when not in use.
Store in original drums as received. Avoid contact with iron. Store between 40 and 90°F.
