You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your variable of interest and then click on the arrow button, which will move your variable into the left box, titled Variable(s). Select the Charts option, click on Histograms, and then click continue. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the histogram for your variable of interest. Creating a Boxplot: At the top, click on Analyze Descriptive Statistics Explore A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your variable of interest and then click on the arrow button that will move that variable into the Dependent List. If you want to observe your boxplot for different categories, then select that corresponding variable from the left box and click on the arrow button that will move it into the Factor List. Click on Plots on the bottom. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display boxplot. Z-Scores: At the top, click on Analyze Descriptive Statistics Descriptives A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your variable of interest and then click on the arrow button, which will move your variable into the left box, titled Variable(s). Click/check on the box at the bottom that says Save standardize values as variables. In the Data View, you should see a new column that has the z-scores for the variable you selected. One Sample T-Test: At the top, click on Analyze Compare Means One Sample T-Test A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your variable of interest and then click on the arrow button, which will move your variable into the left box, titled Test Variable(s). In the Test Value box, type in the numerical value that you are comparing your sample to. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the information for your t-test. Independent Samples T-Test (Two Sample T-Test): At the top, click on Analyze Compare Means Independent Samples T-Test

A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your dependent variable and then click on the arrow button, which will move your variable into the left box, titled Test Variable(s). Click on your independent variable (which will be categorical/nominal) and then click on the arrow button, which will move your variable into the left box, titled Grouping Variable. Click on Define Groups. Under Use Specified Values, type in the codes for Group 1 and Group 2 which were used to define the groups of your independent variable. These will generally be 1 and 2. Your output window will open, which will display the information for your t-test. Your test statistic, degrees of freedom, and p-value will all be next to Equal Variances Assumed.

Dependent/Paired Samples T-Test: At the top, click on Analyze Compare Means Paired Samples T-Test A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your before/pre variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Paired Variables. Do the same thing for your after/post variable. Click on that variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Paired Variables. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the information for your paired samples t-test. One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA): At the top, click on Analyze Compare Means One-Way ANOVA A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your dependent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Dependent List. Click on your independent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Factor. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the ANOVA table. Factorial ANOVA: At the top, click on Analyze General Linear Model Univariate A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your dependent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Dependent Variable. Click on one independent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Fixed Factor(s). Do the same for your other independent variables. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the univariate analysis of variance. Means: At the top, click on Analyze Compare Means Means A box will pop up. You will be able to see a list of your variables in the left box. Click on your dependent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Dependent List. Click on one independent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Independent List.

Click NEXT. Click on your second independent variable and then click on the arrow button which will move that variable into the box titled Independent List. Click OK. Your output window will open, which will display the means for each group.
