While serving in the Army, he spent several months with the occupational forces in Japan. He graduated from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1952 and completed a year of additional study in May of this year. He serv

His wife, Neva Ellen (Fate), is the daughter of Mrs. Delia Fate, and a native of Clay Center, Ne braska. She was bom April 24,
1928. She taught in the elementry schools of Nebraska prior to en
tering the Cincinnati Bible Semi nary. She graduated in May of 1951. During her years at the Seminary and following her grad uation, she was active in the youth
work at Columbia Church of Christ in Cincinnati. Ernest and Neva

We have enjoyed being with each and every one, whether it was for a few short moments or several days. It was a Joy to renew fellowship with you at recent conventions and rallies. Illinois. Merton is Mrs. Faber's
brother. Mr. Fate is employed by the Noble Motor Company and his wife, by the Florsheim Shoe Co. They are members of the Second
Church of Christ where Merton is a Deacon and associated with the
other activities.
It is their task to record the money that is received, send out receipts,
record all expenses, and pay all bills. They will receive no compen
sation for this' tremendous task.

Pray that God will provide our livinglink of $125 per adult by our sailing date in August. Pray, also,
for our other physical needs. Our travel passage of $900, household fund of $1250 and freight costs
are yet to be met. We should have a good start on our housing fund
before we leave for we will have to build.
This is our first issue of the HOKKAIDO CHRISTIAN. We know that some of the news has
been presented personally. Others have received it by means of mim eographed sheets. We hope by this
means to put the infonnation in
a form that will be more perma nent. We waait this paper to be one- which you can be proud to possess. Even though we know that we cannot please everyone, we will welcome any and all com ments about the paper. This paper will be sent to anyone who requests
it.
