Baseball & Softball - Unpaid volunteer Coach/Director Should you be elected, what are three specific areas youd like to change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically would you go about it?: Local Business: Commercially, Amherst has very little new land to be developed, so it is imperative we support our existing businesses. Quite simply, we must be business friendly. Business friendly includes help with starting a business, dealing with permits, getting utilities, taxes, road or rail access, police, fire, labor pool and housing. Third Ward: My concern for the Third Ward is the increasing number of unlicensed, uninspected rental properties. I worked last year to require inspection and maintenance codes for rental properties. I am hoping council will reconsider my request and adopt these ordnances, sooner, not later. Revenue: 1. Council gave our tax department permission to verify claimed income. This may very well increase cash flow. It should be very interesting to learn the results next May. 2. Dont let the state take any more of our money. This proposed Centralized Tax Collection is a gimmick to move local money to the state. 3. Maintain the revenue we have by keeping Amherst a nice place to live and do business. Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you? I have a very visible record of getting stuff done with the help of other people. I enjoy a great relationship with our schools and Citys administration and employees. This relationship helps me to help others when they have questions, concerns or need help.

My passions are community development and keeping Amherst attractive to good people looking for a nice place to live. I have learned that Amherst competes with other communities when professionals are looking to move to the area. Compared to other municipalities, our tax rate, utilizes, schools and families are the envy of the communities around us. The addition of the rec. center, the look of our downtown, improvements in sporting facilities and the current and future work on our sewers are important. The next five years are critical to what Amherst will be 20 years from now. NOTE TO CANDIDATES: Please be aware that this questionnaire will be published
