Tour Overview: A great tour that will take you from Brisbane to Cairns on The Sunlander and then across the Gulf of Carpentaria via coach . You will enjoy fresh seafood, the beautiful Cobbold Gorge, sunsets over the Gulf at Karumba and the beauty of Mt Surprise, just to name a few of the highlights on this tour. Along the way you will also be able to experience the Gulflander and Savannahlander trains, as well as the Kuranda Scenic Rail in Cairns. ITINERARY
Day 1. Thursday, 22 May - Brisbane to Cairns Meet your tour escort and your travelling companions at Platform 10 at Roma Street Rail Station. Depart Brisbane at 1.25pm in a first class sleeper on the Sunlander. Meals on the train are at your own expense. Morning papers are available in the lounge car a great place to get together with your fellow travellers. Day 2. Friday, 23 May - Arrive Cairns Arrive into Cairns Rail Station at 7.15pm. We recommend you purchase dinner on the train. On arrival into Cairns we will be transferred to our accommodation, where we will stay for one night. Stay: Hides Hotel, Cairns Day 3. Saturday, 24 May - Cobbold Gorge BD Today we will have an early start and head through Mt. Garnet and Mt. Surprise for the drive to Cobbold Gorge, where we will spend the following 2 nights. Parts of the road are a bit rough and will shake your breakfast down but the landscape will be worth it. Stay: Cobbold Gorge Resort Day 4. Sunday, 25 May - Cobbold Gorge BLD We will have the whole day to explore this property. After a hearty breakfast, we will take a 4WD bus tour of the property, stopping for lunch beside the river. We will enjoy a boat cruise into the marvellous Gorge. Stay: Cobbold Gorge Resort Day 5. Monday, 26 May - Karumba BD After breakfast head off to Karumba, located on the of the Gulf of Carpentaria. Pass through Normanton, famous for the Purple Pub, and have time to explore this town. Dinner

tonight will be at The Sunset Tavern adjacent to your accommodation. Stay: End of the Road Motel, Karumba Day 6. Tuesday, 27 May - Karumba BD This morning you will be taken on a guided tour of the Barramundi Discovery Centre, followed by lunch in Karumba at own expense. Remember Karumba is famous for fresh seafood. Tonight you will be able to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria as we take a dinner cruise on the Gulf. Stay: End of the Road Motel Day 7. Wednesday, 28 May - Mt Surprise BD This morning, before boarding the Gulflander, take a stroll around Normanton Rail Station and see how rusting steam engines and rolling stock are historical evidence that this railway was built for a far bigger job than it does today. The Gulflander (otherwise known as the Tin Hare) is an adventure through some of Queenslands most inaccessible country. You can almost feel the Gulflanders colourful history. Our driver is a wealth of information and will answer any questions. We will detrain the Gulflander at Blackbull where we will have morning tea, then rejoin the coach to take us to Croydon. Then its back through Georgetown, where we visit the TerrEstrial Mineral Centre, showcasing an extensive display of precious minerals and gems, and on to Mt. Surprise where we will be staying for three nights. Stay : Bedrock Village Day 8. Thursday, 29 May - Mt Surprise BLD This morning is at leisure, and after an early lunch you will board the Savannahlander Rail and enjoy a trip along the old train line out to Einasleigh where you will have a bush style afternoon tea. Afterwards you will board the Bedrock Bus and return to your accommodation. Stay: Bedrock Village

Day 9. Friday, 30 May - Mt Surprise BLD Today, after breakfast, the Bedrock Bus will take us to a cattle station where we will see working dogs in action and learn how a modern cattle property operates. This is interesting and something not many people in the world get to do. We will have morning tea at Kalkani Crater at Undarra, then see the awe-inspiring lava tubes. We head back to the station for a picnic lunch at a waterhole on the property, before returning to Bedrock. Stay: Bedrock Village Day 10. Saturday, 31 May - Cairns BLD This morning we will board the coach for our leisurely trip back to Cairns prior to being transferred to our accommodation. The rest of the afternoon will be at leisure. This evening we will be collected and taken to dinner. Stay : Hides Hotel, Cairns Day 11. Sunday, 1 June - Cairns BD This morning, transfer to the Skyrail Terminal and board the Kuranda Skyrail to the village in the clouds. Stop along the way and have a wander through the rainforest and a walk to the lookout over Barron Falls, before reboarding the Skyrail and continuing on our journey to the top. Once in Kuranda we will have free time to check out the village markets and buy some lunch. We will travel back to Cairns aboard the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail and enjoy a running commentary on the building of the line. On arrival in Cairns we will be transferred to the hotel. Stay : Hides Hotel, Cairns Day 12. Monday, 2 June - Cairns BD After breakfast we will enjoy a Cairns city tour, visit the botanical gardens and enjoy the view from a lookout over Cairns. After the tour you have a free afternoon to enjoy a little shopping if you wish or maybe have a swim at the famous lagoon on the foreshore. Tonight we will be transferred to the Calm Water Cruise and enjoy dinner at Dundees. Stay : Hides Hotel, Cairns Day 13. Tuesday, 3 June - Cairns to Brisbane B After our breakfast in Cairns, you will coach to Townsville to board the train for our journey home. Depart Townsville on the Sunlander in a first class sleeper. Meals on the train are at your own expense. Day 14. Wednesday, 4 June - Arrive home This afternoon at 3.55pm arrive into Brisbane Roma Street Station.

Seniors Holiday Terms of Trade and Schedule of Fees


Fees for Service Seniors Holiday Travel is a fully licenced accredited Travel Agent, and for your protection a member of The Travel Compensation Fund. In order for us to provide professional level of service and cover the costs of arranging your travel requirements, we charge various fees for service. The amount charge will depend on the service provided. Prices Schedules and availability, fare conditions and prices can change at any time. Price changes may occur for reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the products or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Deposits Seniors Holiday Travel requires a booking deposit which is charged per person and deducted from your final balance. The deposit is non-refundable if you should cancel. Additional deposits may be required by Travel Suppliers and other Service Providers. Upon cancellation, the deposit is forfeited however in certain cases, it may be held in our Trust Account for 12 months from the date of cancellation and if not utilised within that period, it will be deemed as cancellation of a booking and forfeited. Payments All prices are based on payment by cash or cheque. Credit card surcharges of 2% for Visa and Mastercard and 3% for Diners or American Express Card apply if you elect to use them for payment. You can also opt to make direct deposits into our nominated bank account which takes 24 hours to be processed into our account. If for any reason any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against that provider, and not against Seniors Holiday Travel. Cancellations, Refunds & Amendments Cancellation must be made in writing and all tickets issued must be returned together with the cancellation of notice. Travel Service suppliers may charge cancellation fees and/or amendment fees. These charges can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking. Fees and extra charges will apply where a booking is changed. Fees and extra charges will also apply when tickets or documents are re -issued. Where we incur any liability for a cancellation fee or charged for any booking you cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of the fee or charge. If you cancel before full payment a cancellation fee equal to your deposit will be charged. After final payment, Seniors Holiday Travel will charge a cancellation fee equal to 10% of full booking in addition to fees charged by suppliers plus loss of deposit paid. Health You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements for your travel and that you are able to participate in the activities included in your itinerary. If you are unsure about your fitness to travel, please check with your GP or specialist clinic. Travel Insurance Travel Insurance is highly recommended for all travellers. Please ensure you take note of the special inclusions and exclusions as they may relate to your particular circumstances. Pre-existing Medical conditions and cover for these are approved or rejected by the Insurer. If you have taken out another Travel Insurance Policy or believe you have adequate cover from a credit card policy we will require a photocopy and details of the insurance cover that you hold. If you choose not to take out Travel Insurance, please complete the appropriate section on the booking form. Please note that if you have insurance from another source and subsequently require our assistance in processing an insurance claim, this will incur a fee as stated in the Seniors Holiday Travel schedule of fees on the next page. Travel Documentation Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers or any other documentation used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including being non -refundable, non-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. These documents cannot be transferred to another person to use. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/ photo id holder. An incorrect name on a booking may result in an inability to use that booking and it may be cancelled. Any errors in names, dates and timings on your documentation will be your responsibility if not advised at time of booking. As a general rule, your travel documents are issued by the service providers two weeks prior to departure. Third Party Suppliers Seniors Holiday Travel, as a licensed travel agent, acts only as an agent for services supplied on behalf of third parties such as airlines, cruise lines and hotel operators. Each supplier operates under their own terms and conditions. By booking services with a supplier you are subject to their own terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure you are familiar with these terms. If you require further information about third party suppliers terms and conditions, please ask your travel consultant. Privacy Statement Your contact information will be required by third party suppliers to accept and confirm a booking. Privacy Law safeguards your personal details from being distributed for marketing purposes. Your information may be used by Seniors Holiday Travel for the purpose of relaying travel related information or about you to third parties.
