During my four year term I have volunteered as a Board Committee Member of the Perry Local School District; Perry Schools Financial Planning Committee, Perry Schools Audit Committee, Perry Schools Wellness Committee, Perry Area Recreation Board, Curriculum Committee, Perry Community Fitness Center Committee, QUEST Advisory Committee, Perry Schools Business Advisory Committee and Perry Schools Safety Committee. I have attended workshops provided by the Ohio School Board of Education; 2009 pre-Board Candidate Workshop, 2009 OSBA Board Candidate Workshop, 2010, 2011, 2012 OSBA Conference, 2012, 2013 OSBA Delegate for Perry Local Schools. Name and Age of Children: I have four children. 15, 12, 11, 9 Organizations: I am a Perry Positive PTA member, Perry High School Alumni Director, PHS Distinguish Alumni Committee Member. I have volunteered as a basketball, volleyball, and soccer coach through Perry Recreation Youth Programs and the Perry Community Fitness Center Travel Programs. I was a 2013 volunteer coordinator helping to provide food and funds supporting local Ohio Food banks through the Feed Ohio program. My husband Tim and I are involved parents and community members. Should You be elected: I will continue to promote and maintain a safe learning environment for every Perry Student. I will continue to develop challenging district goals so all Perry Students achieve personal excellence and the district meets and excels in the state standards. I will continue to keep the community informed about the decisions that are being made that could impact tax payers and their property values. I will continue to focus on being financially responsible with district funds, and develop responsible fiscal policies to maintain the districts financial stability for short and long term. Why should voters elect you? I am a Perry High School graduate. I have 4 children enrolled in the Perry Local School District. I currently have a student enrolled in Perry High School, 2 students enrolled in Perry Middle School, and a student enrolled in the Perry Elementary School. This gives me a unique perspective and experience to the needs of the students in the District. I believe in a quality education for every Perry Student. Each Perry Student must have an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the core curriculum. I will focus on keeping our district competitive with the surrounding districts; including attracting and retaining highly qualified teachers, staff and administrators. I will maintain small class sizes. I will continue to direct precious education dollars into the classrooms, Putting Kids First. I will draw from my experience of the last four years, and continue to move Perry Local Schools forward.
