(DIRECTOR/CHOREOGRAPHER)
Jason Augustowski, a 7th grade language arts teacher and executive director of drama at Belmont Ridge Middle School, is thrilled to direct CAMP ROCK as his first musical for Players On The Potomac. Jason sung tenor in numerous chorales and starred in seven musicals during his theatrical career. He directed the wildly popular show, Seussical, for the 2012 spring season at Belmont Ridge and is excited to have already chosen next year's middle school production (even though he won't tell you what it is until November). Jason has also written, directed, and acted in thirteen original, feature-length independent films. Most importantly, he is honored to have worked with the incredibly talented cast, crew, and production staff of this show. Jason would like to thank you all for coming and sincerely hopes that you enjoy the show and remember it for years to come.

This production of CAMP ROCK is the second summer musical for the Players On the Potomac! Heres how it all began...Lansdowne mom, Wendy Marco, has a daughter that loves musical theater the way other kids love sports. Ironically, Marco is a professional hockey skating coach and spends the majority of her working hours training young hockey players. However, she discovered that unlike the countless options for kids dedicated to hockey, soccer, football, etc., development and performance opportunities for young actors are extremely limited in Loudoun County. Frustration turned to ambition. She pitched the idea of a teen community theater organization to Lansdownes HOA and they generously gave POP a home, offering the Potomac Club ballroom as rehearsal space and the outdoor amphitheatre for performances. One year ago, the Players On the Potomac premiered its first show, Youre a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The parents of that small cast of 10 actors selflessly dedicated many hours to help pull off a weekend of performances that was far more successful than anyone could have imagined! The founding members of POP solidified a future for the organization. This summer the Players On the Potomac are back, and the family has grown from a cast of 10 to a cast of 32 with even more hardworking volunteer parents. We hope you enjoy CAMP ROCK, and we look forward to seeing you again at our upcoming Players On the Potomac shows. If youd like to join our organization or learn more about Players On the Potomac, please visit www.PlayersOnthePotomac.org.
