Dear apprentices, welcome to this new learning activity!


This time, our objective is to be able to talk about past events and to create a timeline. We have an estimated time of 48 hours to develop all the tasks. We invite you to check the further material and the extra activities we have prepared for you in order to practice and reinforce what you have already learned.

The communicative results for this learning activity are:

Happy Memories
A relaxing weekend at the river!
Lets explore the next material! It is about two people remembering their last weekend activities. You can read and listen to it as many times as you want in order to understand, at a basic level, the information presented. Paola: Hey! What are you up to? Samantha: Not much! What about you? What did you do yesterday? Paola: Yesterday, I woke up 30 minutes late. I had a cold shower. I got dressed. I had a delicious breakfast. I finished packing. I took a bus. My friends and I went to river. Paola: I went to a river with some friends. Samantha: Really? How was it? Paola: It was fun; I had a great time with them.

Task 1:
Weekends are really fun!
What do you do on weekends? Where do you go? Who with? Write a short summary about your last weekend activities including all the information you want! Task 2:
Share your weekend fun
Schedule an oral interaction session with your partners and your instructor to share your experience last weekend. You can comment on your partners participation by saying what activities you liked most and why. The interaction tool for the interview is established by the tutor. Dont forget to download the checklist with the assessment criteria for your task. Checklist: Weekend fun

Task 3:
Record your experience
Based on the materials previously explored and your written report, make a video of you talking about the activities that you and your partners liked the most and why. Include, at least, two activities per person. When your video is ready, upload it to YouTube or another similar site and paste the link in the evidences folder corresponding to this learning guide. Task 4
When I was a child
How fun it is to be a child! Do you remember what you liked to eat? Or, which was your favorite toy? It`s time to talk about your childhood. Use photos to make a video of your childhood and record yourself talking about the most important things of your history. When your video is ready, upload it to YouTube or another similar site and paste the link in the evidences folder corresponding to this learning guide. My timeline

Laura Smiths life experiences


Hi, Im Laura Smith. I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, a long time ago. My life history is full of very exciting, terrific but hard moments. You know! When I was a child, my mother used to work all day long. So, she couldnt spend much time with us. At that time, I was attending a public school. Later, in my teens, I became a hitchhiker. When I was eighteen, while my friends were fighting in Vietnam, I joined a pacifist group, and we started travelling all around the world. Most of the time, we were spreading our ideas but, at the same time, we had a lot of trouble dealing with imprisonment, expenses, staying in awful hostels, eating rare food, and sharing with bizarre people, but we also could get to know exotic places and saw awesome landscapes and cultures. Sadly, I got ill, and I had to come back to my native country but I will never forget the experience I lived at that wonderful time. I cant believe how exciting my life history is.

Task 1:
Im not kidding. It happened to me!
Sometimes, crazy stories happen! Your task is to write a crazy story that happened to you or a friend of yours. It can be funny, scary or a mysterious one! Then, make an audio record version (MP3) of the story. When your story and the audio of your story are ready, upload them to the evidences folder corresponding to this learning guide. Before you compose and record your story, explore the external links to study the support material. Dont forget to download the checklist with the assessment criteria for your task. Task 2:
What a great life!
You have shared a lot of information about you! Now, its time to get to know more about your partners. Your second task is to create a biography and a timeline of one of your partners. Select one of your partners to write a biography about her/him! To do that, follow the next steps: 1. Ask your partner to send you her/his short summary about your last weekend activities and her/ his childhood video. 2. Then, prepare an interview for your partner to confirm and get extra information about her/his life.

3. Schedule with your e-classmate and your instructor an oral session and conduct the interview. Your instructor is going to be there to guide you. The interaction tool for the interview is established by the tutor. 4. Finally, organize all the information you have and write your partners biography! You can use photos if you want. Let me explain
Schedule an oral interaction session with your partners and your instructor, to learn how to do a timeline. At the end of the session, make the timeline of your partners biography (the one you did in task 2) When your timeline is ready, upload it to the evidences folder corresponding to this learning guide. Then, share it with all your partners in another oral interaction session. If you have any doubts, you can ask your tutor. The interaction tool for the interviews is established by the tutor.
