I.Introduction What is Makers?


Makers are 6 days -long, hands-on experiences where student, entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. Attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over the week teams will learn new technologies provided by Google & Microsoft where this tools could help them to build their apps or site also team will go deeply in the business side by learning how focus on customer development, validating their ideas, team building, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product , On the final day teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts. Throw this week all the attendees will try new experience by : Learning: Makers is all about learning through the act of creating. During this week you will be attending a lot of intensive session in both technical & business Building new networks: The Makers week attracts your communitys best makers and do-ers. By spending all week working and learning, you will build long-lasting relationships and possibly walk away with a job . Learn a new skill: With a whole week dedicated to letting your creative juices flow, it's a good opportunities to work on a new platform, learn a new programming language, or just try something different. Get face time with thought leaders: Local tech and startup leaders participate in as speaker and judges. Get some one-on-one time with the movers and shakers in your community. And Its all FREE !

Who are Makers attendees?


Female between the age of 16- 35 , among them Student , entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to be , business women and every female looking for learning new technology .

What is MAKERS Competition?


While MAKERS workshops help the attendees to motivate their thought with teach how to interpret their ideas into projects, the competition seeks to let them MAKE their projects. Its a chance to implement what theyve learned during MKERS workshops. The participants will compete on the First Place of three different categories: Best Business Idea, Best Microsoft Technology, and Best Google Technology. In addition, the participants should conclude a technical business idea that is based on one of Microsoft or Google technologies. During MAKERS days (5 days), the participants will build their teams and work on their projects to be represented at the final day in front of a judge committee who will evaluate the competing projects according to specified standards.

Accession conditions of the competition:


1. Participating projects should involve a technical solution that is based on one of Microsoft or Google technologies. 2. Startup of the projects should be from MAKERS 2013 Dammam. 3. The project idea should be innovated at the targeted area or market.

Standards of the evaluation:


Each category will consist of two competing teams, at least. Also, proportions are differentiated according to each category. The standards are: 1. Creativity of the idea. 2. Usability and effectiveness (design and customer experience). 3. Presentation. 4. Business plan and profitability. 5. Excellence of the prototype that is based on one of Microsoft or Google technologies.

Makers Riyadh
March 9, 2013 At N2V headquarter in Riyadh the makers first event were launched with more than 1200 female attendance and 25 team and new project , we covered some of the university in Riyadh , from arab open university and king saud university to high school , female student with all different background . The event last for 9 days including 6 day intensive session and 3 day for the makers competition were the finalist team worked in their project .
