Tirol at a Glance
Summer in the Mountains
Tirol / Heart of the Alps

1 | Lisi Osl from Kirchberg No. 1 of the World MTB rankings & winner of Austria CUP in Mountain Biking One of the amazing highlights of my job is being able to be out in the open air. I get around quite a lot, but if I can challenge the Kitzbheler Alps on my bike, thats when my heart races! But for me its the whole package that counts: the traditions, the Alpine pastures, the cows, the herdsmen and the dairy maids, who are always so open and friendly. 2 | Gregor Schlierenzauer from the Stubai Valley Olympic Gold medal winner in Ski Jumping For me summer in the Tirolean mountains is a time to relax and re-energise. Above all, its getting out and about amidst open and untouched nature.

3 | Elmar Huter from Wenns in the Pitztal Valley Runs the child-friendly family farm Sennhof Huter with his wife I love being in the mountains. This is where I can take a step back and breathe again. The diversity of the Alps never fails to inspire me around every corner a new landscape is discovered, from waterfalls, rock faces to mountain lakes. Its all truly fascinating and I love showing it to my guests. 4 | Benny Parth from Ischgl Austrias youngest Toque awarded chef cooks at home in the Stva restaurant My walks through the mountains not only provide the ideal opportunity to unwind, but I often return to the valley with all sorts of culinary treasures. Its amazing how many wild herbs you can find in our mountains, which for an award-winning chef is invaluable.

On the rock face In the Climbers Paradise of Tirol, the rock-climbing opportunities are endless, with over 5,000 extreme routes, 3,000 medium routes and 1,500 bouldering routes await climbing enthusiasts. In addition Via Ferratas and high rope courses can be found across the region. www.climbing.tyrol.com In the water Tirols fast flowing streams and rivers guarantee plenty of fun and action from white-water rafting against the current, to kayaking downstream and canyoning down deep cliff faces. www.outdoor.tyrol.com With power Whether its the Three Countries Giro Tour, the Arlberg Giro Tour, tztaler Bike Marathon, Tannheimer Bike Marathon, the Dolomites Cycle Race, Zillertal Bike Challenge, the Ischgl Ironbike, Karwendel Hike, the Glacier Marathon or the Red Bull Dolomitenmann there are countless possibilities for athletes, sportsmen and women to measure their strength and test their ability to the limit. www.sport.tirol.at
