The Pictorialist

November 2013 Newsletter of the Photo Pictorialists of Milwaukee Established 1904 Affiliated with the Photographic Society of America Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization And the Wisconsin Print Circuit Richard Yehl, President; Kathy Braun, Vice President Dixie Lowin, Treasurer; Bert Hartinger, Secretary-Editor Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month from September thru May at 7pm in the Luther Manor Conference Room, 4545 N. 92nd St., Wauwatosa, Wisconsin The November 7 Program All of you who have made prints for the Harley/Photo Pictorialist exhibition in City Hall, remember to bring them to the November meeting. The prints will be mounted and matted for you, in time for the exhibition to open, which will be Nov. 26. The exhibit will hang until Dec. 6. A suggested title for the show is 110 Captures 110 in honor of the anniversaries of both Harley Davidson and the Photo Pictorialists. If you have an idea for a different title, present it at the meeting and we will take a vote. Our club will get some recognition from the showing in City Hall and we hope some new members as a result of the publicity. Thanks to all who contribute prints for this exhibition. Instead of showing new photos of our own at the Nov. meeting we will have prints from participating clubs in the PSA Region 21 to judge. Last year there was a delay in getting the prints. Steps have been taken so that does not occur this year. We repeat a gentle reminder about dues payment. Not all dues have been paid, so if you havent paid, please do so now. Exhibits Jim Krivitz has taken down his Cuba photos from the Luther Manor Welcome Center, and a new show has gone up. Now it is Richard Yehls photographs which are on display, and will be through the month of November. Come to the November meeting a few minutes early to have time to go the Welcome Center to see Richards photos. Our next camera club exhibit in the Welcome Center will be in January. Prints by Karren and Michael Jeske will be shown then. Membership A hearty welcome to Cheryl Walkowiak who joined the camera club at the October meeting. Outings Ideas for outings are needed. If you have any, contact Pauline Beck who is directing the search for photo opportunities. Also relay suggestions to Sandra Weber to get them into the Photo Pictorialist, our web site.

Competitions The next WACCO competition will be November second. The deadline for entries is October 26, which gives you a scant few days yet to enter. Our club members did fairly well in the WACCO competition last year. We hope to do so again this year. For our club competition we are as usual in the hunt for judges, and winners will be given medals instead of certificates. That should encourage participation.

Treat Schedule Going alphabetically, since Jerry Harders was the last one to treat, the rotation will be: November 7 Pete Koenig January 2 James Krivitz February 6 Joan Langenohl March 6 Linda Lee April 3 John and Dixie Lowin
