World War one was called the Great War from its devastations.

It was a major war which began in 1914 and ended in 1918. All soldiers joined the Great War could not refuse once signed. This report will discuss about what is World war one, who was the prime minister at the time, next, when and why decisions were made and which people were affected by the decisions, finally, what the consequences of war were and how the decisions changed Australia. The First World War began when Britain and Germany went to war in August 15th 1914. Sir Andrew Fisher pledged full support for Britain. World War one was the war that involved many countries such as, Australia, Britain, Germany, France, Turkey, New Zealand, Poland and many more. Sir Andrew Fisher was the Prime Minister at the time. He made the decision to support Britain in the war against Germany. He requested all Australian men aged 18 and over to join the Army. He then sent soldiers to France to get ready to fight Germany and its allies in ww1 you werent allowed to write to your parents or family members that you hate in the army you have to write something good or they will cross it out in black. Australias early involvement in the Great War included the Australian navel and military expeditionary force taking possession of German, and New Guinea at the neighbouring islands of Bismarck Archipelago in October 1914. In November 1914 the royal Australian navy made a significant contribution when HMAS Sydney destroyed the German raider SMS Emden some soldiers even got anorexic because they didnt get enough food they had to have canned meat canned cheese and so on. Throughout 1916 and 1917, Australia loses on the western front were heavy and gains are small. In 1918 the Australians reached the peak of their fighting performance in the battle of Hemel on the 4th July from 8th of august on 11th November the consequence was that soldiers would face dirt water bullets diseases cancer and viruses people even had to swim in water some drowned because there uniform was so heavy some died because they got so cold in the water even some died of suicide they had to travel in Egypt even in the hot desert it would have been painful and people would have been dying for thirst Conclusion: World War 1 was a scary thought for everyone we had double the amount of soldiers then Germany so they surrendered before we even got

there. But we lost when we versed turkey (Gallipoli) we lost before we even reached the top of the mountain.
