Ardhi University has vacant positions in the Academic and Administrative cadre. A: ACADEMIC POSITIONS /PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND DUTIES I School of Real Estates Studies (SRES) a) Position: Lecturer (1 post) b) Area of Specialization: Phd. in Finance. Duties: Successful candidate is expected to; i) Teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students. ii) Conduct research and publish in their areas of specialization. iii) Carry out consultancy and public service delivery II School of Environmental Science and Technology (SEST) a) Position: Assistant Lecturer (1post) b) Area of Specialization: MSc. in Environmental Engineering/ Civil Engineering. Duties: Successful candidate is expected to; i) Teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students ii) Conduct research and publish in their areas of specialization iii) Carry out consultancy and public service delivery School of Construction Economic Management (SCEM) a) Position: Tutorial Assistant (1 Post) b) Area of Specialization: Bachelor in Building Survey. The Applicants must have an overall GPA of 3.8 Duties: Successful candidate is expected to; i) Assist in teaching undergraduate students. ii) Assist in conducting research and publishing in their areas of specialization. iii) Assist in carrying out consultancy and public service delivery.

II. The University Library a) Position: Assistant Librarian (1 post) b) Area of Specialization Holder of Masters in Library and Information Sciences, Informatics and/or IT will be an added advantage. Applicants must have an overall GPA of 4.0 and above or B+ and must have obtained an overall GPA of 3.8 and above at undergraduate level. Duties: Successful candidate is expected to perform any other Library duties as assigned by his/her supervisor. NOTE: Remuneration: Successful candidates will be offered attractive salaries within the PUTS scale. B: ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS 1. Position: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION (1 Post)

Qualification & Experience: Holder of Masters Degree in relevant field with working experience of at least and ten years in a senior position in administration plus ICT skills. OR holder of PhD in the relevant field with working experience of at least five years in a senior position in administration.

Applicants are invited from within and outside Ardhi University. Duties: (i) Develops effective policies and procedures for hiring, training, deployment, development and retention of staff. (ii) Develops comprehensive human resources management manual. (iii) Carries out regular human resources audit and inventory of current and needed skills. (iv) Prepares long and short term human resources training programs. (v) Develops and maintains policies for maintenance of good industrial relations. (vi) Ensures the University remains competitive in the labour market. (vii) Develops and advises on suitable remuneration packages. (viii) Develops and administers periodic performance and salary reviews. (ix) Prepares, coordinates, and consolidates annual work plans and budgets. (x) Enforces and ensures uniform understanding and application of Human Resource policies. (xi) Interprets Human Resources Policies and Service Regulations. (xii) Prepares Human Resources projections and plans. (xiii) Prepares reports for the University Management meetings. (xiv) Manages the Directorate efficiently and firmly. (xv) Keeps track of HIV/AIDS control programs. (xvi) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer. 2. Position: PERSONAL SERCRETARY II (1 Post) Qualification & Experience: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili plus Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognised institution and Shorthand/Hatimkato 100/120 w.p.m., typing 50 w.p.m, tabulation and manuscript stage III with working experience of at least three years in a similar position. Duties: (i) Follows up outstanding replies. (ii) Coordinates office requirements. (iii) Keeps diary of events and appointments. (iv) Ensures office orderliness and neatness. (v) Ensures that the respective office is punctually open. (vi) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer. 3. Position: ACCOUNTANT TRAINEE (1 Post) Qualification: Holder of CPA (T)/ACCA/ACA/ICMA or equivalent qualifications plus ICT skills. Duties: (i) Prepares monthly trial balance and bank reconciliation statements. (ii) Prepares monthly salaries and related returns. (iii) Maintains debtors and creditors records. (iv) Prepares financial statements (v) Handles Revenue Collection. (vi) Prepares periodical and/or annual financial statements of Revenue and Expenditure. (vii) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer. 4. Position: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT I (1 Post) Qualification & Experience: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with NABE III/ATEC II/Ordinary Diploma in Accountancy/Module A and B with working experience of at least four years in a similar position plus ICT skills. Duties: (i) Prepares payment reports, schedules and lists of various expenditure. (ii) Maintains vote book and various registers e.g. debtor, imprest creditors, etc. (iii) Receives and pays out cash and cheques. (iv) Maintains accounting records. (v) Prepares monthly trial balances. (vi) Prepares Bank reconciliation statements. (vii) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer. 5. Position: ASSISTANT SUPPLIES OFFICER I (1 Post) Qualification & Experience: Holder of First Degree/Advanced Diploma/Professional Level III in Materials Management or Procurement and Logistics Management with working experience of at least four years in a similar position plus ICT skills. Duties:

Approves stores issues notes. Assists in planning training programme for the unit. Assists in preparing plans, budgets reports for the unit. Assist in co-ordinating and controlling matters of the unit. Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer.

Position: LIBRARY ASSISTANT I (1 Post) Qualification & Experience: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with Diploma in Library and Information Studies and working experience of at least three years in a similar position plus ICT skills; OR holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with Certificate in Library Studies/successful completion of Certificate Library Examinations and working experience of at least five years in a similar position plus ICT skills. Duties: (i) Carries out routine professional duties. (ii) Assists in processing added copies and continuations. (iii) Assists in maintaining public and staff catalogues. (iv) Ensures proper shelving of books and periodicals. (v) Assists in coping catalogues with CIP data. (vi) Assists in handling inter library loans-gifts and exchanges. (vii) Assists in manual operations in various sections of the library. (viii) Lends out and receipt of books. (ix) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer.

Position: LIBRARY ASSISTANT II (2 Posts) Qualification & Experience: Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate with Diploma in Library and Information Studies from a recognized institution plus ICT skills; OR holder of Form IV/VI Certificate in Library and Information Studies/successful completion of Certificate Library Examinations and working experience of at least three years in a similar position plus ICT skills. Duties: (i) Performs library and clerical duties e.g. handling of simple enquiries from readers, bibliographical searching, collection of Library statistics, etc. (ii) Handles simple enquiries from readers. (iii) Assists readers in bibliographical searching. (iv) Assists in collection of Library statistics. (v) Assists in proper shelving of books and periodicals. (vi) Assists in manual operations in various sections of the library. (vii) Lends out and receipt of books. (viii) Assists in coping catalogues with CIP data. (ix) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by ones reporting officer. NOTE: Remuneration: Successful candidates will be offered attractive salaries within the PGSS scale. C: 1. 2.
