THE FUTURE FOR COAL: PRE-COMBUSTION EXTRACTION OF CARBON

Coal has always been the biggest single contributor of raw energy for fossil fuel power generation stations, and there is a commercial desire to maintain this status quo but only if its CO2 contribution is reduced by at least 50%. How can this be addressed cost-effectively? Hear from John Griffiths, Gasification Matters at this free lecture. www.imeche.org/events/L311

WATER AND ENERGY: A MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE

How can we resolve the challenges making energy consumption such a major issue for the water industry? This seminar explores the impact of energy-saving targets, the approaches being taken by regulators, utility companies and academia and, importantly, showcases key solutions for you in tackling increasing energy costs. www.imeche.org/events/S1765
