1. Teacher pastes two word cards on the white board and select two pupils to come out to match the word card and the picture on the board. 2. Pupils follow after teacher reads. 3. Teacher put the roller board on the whiteboard. 4. Teacher teaches about the action words such as peel and chop. 5. Teacher does the action with the help of the picture puzzle used in set induction and pupils follow. 6. Teacher chants through the jazz chant with rhythm and pupils listen. 7. Pupils follow after teacher reads. 8. Teacher does the action while chants the jazz chants and pupils follow.

To prepare pupils to understand the lyrics of jazz chant.

9. Teacher substitutes the words banana with orange and read it with once and pupils follow. Practice (15 minutes) Picture cards 1. Teacher shows the picture and pupils chant the lyrics according to the fruit shown in the picture. 2. While pupils are reading, teacher claps the two containers to create rhythm. 3. Teacher shows the picture to a group at a time. 4. The group has to chant the lyrics according to the picture given. 5. Whole class chants the jazz chant again with the word banana and orange. Production (10 minutes) A box with small picture cards 2. 1. Teacher asks a pupil to pick a picture from a box. Teacher asks the group to chant the jazz chant according to the picture (banana/ orange) at their own place. 3. The process applies to the other groups. 4. Teacher asks pupils to give applause to the best performance. Enrichment Read a jazz chant with own rhythm. 1. Pupils read the jazz chant with the rhythm created by themselves.(clapping hands) To check their ability on chanting the jazz chant.
