1. ECONOMIC SECTORS
People work in different economic sectors. There are three sectors:
PRIMARY SECTOR
SECONDARY SECTOR
TERTIARY SECTOR
Agriculture produces crops or fruits and vegetables (rice, olives, wheat and so on)
Livestock farming produces animals for their milk, meat and leather
Mining industry extracts important natural resources stone, coal and oil from the ground.
Another important activity is the construction industry. This industry builds houses, bridges or motorways.

Workers provide a service. The services can be organised into different groups Land transport: Products are transported in trains Sea transport: Merchandise is transported on large cargo ships Air transport: Products are transported in aeroplanes.

Beach tourism: Tourists can enjoy the Sun, sand and sea Adventure tourism: Tourist s do exciting outdoor activities Rural tourism: Tourists visit villages and the countrysides. Cultural tourism: Tourists can visit monuments and museums
Domestic trade: Products are made and sold within the same country Foreign trade: Products are bought or sold from other countries
