U.S. Army Engineer School; Fort Leonard Wood, MO 62G10, Quarry Specialist Individual Training Plan for MOS 62G, Quarry Specialist, dated September 1992 The resident MOS 62G10 Quarry Specialist Course provides skill level 1 soldiers with the skills and knowledge required to perform duties as a quarry specialist and assist in combat engineering missions. The student receives Common Engineer and MOS-specific training: 39.7 hours of Common Engineer Training (CET) consisting of basic demolitions and basic mobility, countermobility, and survivability training. 9.0 hours of MOS 62G Course Introduction which introduces the facility, course procedures, and criteria for successful course completion; course safety; environmental stewardship; and The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS). 143.0 hours of MOS specific training in operating a 150-ton per hour (TPH) crusher plant, drilling bore holes, and preparing for a quarry blast. 40.0 hours of reinforcement training during 56-hour continuous operations field training exercise (FTX) which includes occupying and securing a quarry area, performing combat construction operations in a tactical environment, and refitting to fight.

Prerequisites:

Resident course students must meet current requirements listed in AR 611-201 and AR 600-9. Prior to arrival at ADT students must have a physical for wearing respirators, have been fit tested for proper size and style of the respirator, trained on the care and maintenance of the respirator. Upon arrival at ADT students must have in their possession an OSHA approved respirator and steel toed safety shoes. None CET is developed by DOTD-TD-12, U.S. Army Engineer School and is published as a separate standalone POI.

It will also instruct the student on the proper procedures for handling/disposal of POL products, soiled rags, cleanup operations and will discuss how to avoid unnecessary equipment usage, and damage to surrounding areas.
