Begin your LEAN Educator conference on Thursday, October 3 by signing up to attend a preconference workshop or one of the several special gemba walks designed with attendees in mind. For a nominal additional fee you can choose from the following:

LAI Lean Academy Curriculum

Attend the half-day morning workshop for an overview of this three-day curriculum, and a deep dive into three of its exercises and simulations: 6S, variation simulation, and a Lego clinic simulation. Participants will receive electronic source materials for these and other exercises.

Honda Plant Tour

Honda built its first US plant in Marysville, Ohio in 1982 and has been making history ever since. Their philosophy is simple- be known for high quality vehicles at a reasonable price with worldwide customer satisfaction. Come tour the Honda East Liberty plant and meet the people who make the Honda Crosstour, CR-V and the Acura RDX and live their philosophy everyday through Honda's lean journey.

Cardinal Health's successful lean journey began in the more than 200 distribution centers worldwide. In 2010, they took their lean transformation to the functional and transactional spaces. To date the company has made successful implementations in areas ranging from information technology to contracts and pricing. Cardinal Health will share their story and achievements.

Nationwide
At Nationwide Insurance, a lean transformation inside the Columbus-based insurers Application Development Center (ADC) has brought teams together and broken down walls literally. Join this gemba walk for an up-close look at how the company has physically transformed its ADC to reflect its sharp focus on visual management. In the ADC, largely invisible processes have become highly visible, giving associates speed and flexibility in sharing ideas, escalating challenges, and tracking project progress.
