Employed with Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd (Tata Tea Ltd) From November 2010 May 2011 Role Assistant Manager (Operations) Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Rungamutte Tea Estate. Responsibilities: Summary of roles and responsibilities involving the operations in a tea estate on a day-to-day basis: Field Management:
Cultural practice of tea crop planting, extension of tea planting, uprooting of tea bushes, replanting of new teas, upbringing of young tea, plucking operations and its standard, prompt transportation for quick delivery of quality tea leaf plucked to the factory, minimum damage to the tea leaf plucked, random head-count of all people present with the registers of the field staff, pruning of tea bushes, tipping, raising of clonal nursery, physical stock taking of all varieties of tea plants, soil preparation, pest, weed and disease control, fertilizer, drainage, water management, shade planting and distribution of firewood to the workforce.

Factory Management:
Manufacturing and production of highest quality CTC Tea. Minimization of spillage, wastage, maintenance of hygiene of the highest standard, strict monitoring of the manufacturing process and ensuring that the workers and the staff carry out their duties diligently on a daily basis.

Tea tasting on a daily basis. Ensuring that the teas produced are sealed, stitched, stacked and invoicing of the same are done on a daily basis. Check on the status of all processing machinery to ensure minimum breakdown. To ensure that the teas are dispatched according to the juggle sent by H.O. and also to make necessary arrangement of transport for delivering the packed teas to the specified destinations in the highest quality standard. Transport management for ensuring the smooth delivery of plucked tea leaf from the field to the factory. Keeping track of vehicle movements, School Bus service facilities, checking log books etc. Check on the status of general maintenance of all vehicles, gensets, water pumps and irrigation engines. Ensuring timely delivery of rations, HSD, petrol, coal etc. including its weighment form part of the operations. Proper utilization of all energy resources with minimum wastage in a tea factory. To keep records of all accidents and dangerous occurrences in the factory and take all necessary preventive measures so as to safeguard the occurrence of accidents. Responsible for inventory management and cost control at the estate. Stores management.

Administration:
Administrative and functionally responsible for handling more than 1400 permanent workers, 600 temporary workers & 75 clerical staff. General Administration of the Organization including proper House Keeping, Security related matters, etc. Planning and formation for effective and efficient governance within and outside each business unit. Planning and implementing strategic development both annual and long term for Individual business units. Implementation of Administrative reports for individual work and units. Responsible for making reporting formats for controlling and monitoring processes. Responsible for the welfare, Medical and Housing requirements of the workforce. Ensuring strict compliance of statutory acts and rules as applicable under the Factory and Statutory acts as enforced by the Govt. of India.

HR Functions:
Arranging interviews and recruitment of Staff and Workers. Organizing Training Programmes for the Clerical Staff and Workers. Maintaining Attendance Records, Leave Records, Preparation of Staff and Workers payroll and wage and salary disbursement. Travel and accommodation matters including Ticketing, Vehicle arrangements for all visitors.

Finance:
Formation of annual revenue targets and monitoring for non-compliance. Formulation of long-term program, plans and determination for viability and cost benefit ratio for business. Development and planning of budgets and fiscal planning. Verification of bills for payment and keeping track of expenditures under my direct control. To keep in touch with the PF authorities relating to PF and Gratuity matters and disbursement of the same to the workforce.

Public Relations:
Interact externally with District Level Administration, Law Enforcing Agencies, Labour Tribunals, Local Political Leaders, Local Unions & Associations, Health Services and other regulatory bodies. Creative visualization for promotion of eco-tourism within the estate. Active participation with the forest department in the protection and preservation of wild life.
