SKYWAVE MOBILE COMMUNICATION AUTOMATIC VEHICLE LOCATION AGENT

AUTOMATIC VEHICLE LOCATION AGENT

A Lua application to quickly configure IsatData Pro terminals in fleet management solutions.

Reduce time and costs to program IsatData Pro terminals to send position reports, track drive time, report status of sensors and more.
The Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) Agent is an embedded Lua application developed by SkyWave for easy integration with a Solution Providers fleet management application. It provides a variety of pre-set event-based reports with configurable thresholds that support user requirements for location tracking, vehicle status and driver behavior monitoring features.

Channel Benefits of AVL Agent

Reduced development: Eliminate time, effort and costs of programming IDP terminals in Lua for core fleet management applications. Quick to market: Decrease time required to bring an IsatData Pro fleet management system to market. Customer features: Offer important functionality like real-time alerts of events triggered by location, movement and speed; driver efficiency and vehicle usage reports for trips. Grow with the market: Get access to new features as they are released free of charge. Global, no roaming solution: Quickly go to market with a fleet management solution that offers reliable communication coverage across countries and borders without roaming.

The AVL Agent can be used on any of the IDP 600, IDP 700 and IDP 800 series of satellite and satellite-cellular terminals.

How the AVL Agent Works

The AVL Agent removes the need for the Solution Provider to program the terminal in Lua. It creates an environment where the Solution Provider only has to program their fleet management application to send configuration parameters over-theair to the IDP terminals to enable features and reports. SkyWaves IsatData Pro satellite network and IDP satellite and satellitecellular terminals provide the wireless communication link regardless of the location of the vehicle.

AVL Agent Features

Driving, ignition and idling reports: Monitor driver behavior and ensure compliance to regulations. Speed thresholds: Detect when a vehicle is speeding for driver safety and vehicle security. Service-Hour Meter (SHM) reports: Determine optimal maintenance schedule. Low power mode: Reduce energy consumption and increase battery life (IDP 800 series). Accelerometer parameters: Detect towing and theft events by configuring the accelerometer behavior. Digital and analog sensors thresholds: Detect when critical operational points are crossed or when sensor values change significantly in a specified amount of time in order to detect possible emergencies. Geofence reports: Identify when vehicles have entered/exited areas of interest and how long vehicles are in geofences. Security violations: Get notified when GPS and GPRS jamming is detected, SIM card slots are being tampered with (IDP 700 series), antennas are cut and air communication is blocked which happen during thefts. Immobilize the vehicle: Halt a possible hijacking by sending an over-the-air message to immobilize the vehicle. An optional timer switches the vehicle out of immobilization state to get it back on the road. Configurable over-the-air: Adjust the configuration of the AVL application by using over-the-air messages.
