Anniversaries are important to all of us. It gives us the ODOortunity to reflect on our accomplishments and set goals for the future. One year ago we arrived in Thailand. In one year we have learned many things.
The first term here (three years for us) a major priority is to
Mike has set goals for himself of praying, preaching and teaching in the national language. These goals have already been reached. We have visited villages with the student's evangelism teams and have witnessed tribal people turning from spirit worship and being baptized in large water tubs and small creeks. VJe've seen spirit shelves torn down
and burned.
We've learned to appreciate the Thai people, their food and their culture. We are visitors in their land and we have come with the goal of evangelizing and not "Americanizing" the people here.
We've had our bouts with physical sickness, an exhausted feeling from the heat and even homesickness. But the Lord has provided us with the
strength to overcome these obstacles. . ..
This year has brought forth a big change for our family.
It has been
a rewarding and an eye opening experience for us all. Without your help we couldn't be here. You are a vital part of our ministry here. May we say "thank you" for praying for us, writing us letters, sending us packages,
and for your financial help.
Serving Christ with you,

Dear Friend and Faithful Supporter, Another two months have swiftly flown by again and we are now brought to the end of another year of service for our Lord. The Christmas season is now fast upon us and we have a desire to take advantage of this opportunity in order to share the Good News about Jesus with the people of this country. Would you pray that the Gospel will touch the lives of the people here during this time of international celebration of the birth of
Jesus Christ?
Many of us will be going out to villages for special Christmas celebrations during the month of December. My family and I are planning to spend a few days in a Hmong village where the first Christian converts were won to Christ just this yeari Now, I was told by one of our Asian preachers that more than forty people have been baptized into Christ in this village this year! We praise the Lord for this! And this will be their first Christmas celebration ever! What an exciting occasion! Pray that many others in this village will accept Jesus Christ. Our students at C.B.I, are returning home just today for the Christmas break. Many of them will be involved in special weeklong Christmas celebrations during this month. Debbie and I want to express to you our sincere appreciation for your unswerving and faithful support during this year. You have provided for our every need. Even in this country i t takes a lot of money to liv6. Here we have to pay for our children's education, our language study, and we try to help C.B.I. and churches with special needs. We have to save some money for medical care since we do not carry health insurance here. Money must also be available for returning home for furlough. So as you see it takes a lot, but you have provided all that has been needed. Please continue to provide as you have in the past year
and a half. We want to do our best to serve the Lord here in
this country, spreading the Gospel and training Asian Church leadership. May you have a blessed season of joy as you
celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior!
