McKendree Clean-up Day
Before we enter the fall season for 2009 the McKendree staff is putting together plans for a church-wide
“clean-up day.” Dates have not been officially set for this event, however early August has been
considered as a targeted time frame.
As we are entering “A New Era of Hope” in the life of our church, the clean-up day will serve as a
preparation for our facilities to be utilized to their full potential. One specific need for this day will be
large trucks for hauling away big items. Also, as we gear up for this big day, please be thinking of various
local organizations that could benefit from receiving items from the church. An example of this would
be a local school in need of an upright piano, etc. An inventory list of these type of items will be
compiled soon.
How can you be involved?
1) Join the Inventory Team: the Inventory Team will be consist of McKendree members who are
willing to help the staff scour the building on a set calendar date to make inventory of items that the
church can sell, auction, or give away to other local churches, charities, or organizations in need. It is
asked that this team have input and representation from those who have been at McKendree through
the years and generations for insight into some of the assets we house at this facility.
2) Join the Clean Team: this team will also scour the McKendree facilities and take inventory of
specific areas that need special cleaning, attention or maintenance.
3) Participate in Clean-Up Day: we will need several individuals of varying gifts to be present on
clean-up day! All ages and all degrees of strength will be needed, i.e. BIG muscles for moving heavy
items and elbow grease action for heavy CLEANING!
