The Company
AJN Design & Surveying Services Ltd provides the complete consultancy for the built environment. Our services cover the UK with our Head Oce based in the beautiful market town of Brecon in the Brecon Beacons National Parks. Our expertise covers multi disciplines across the construction industry from residential and commercial work to light and heavy industrial. Our Surveyors and Architectural Technicians oer the peace of mind to know that any project will be dealt with professionally and eciently ensuring a holistic approach from start to nish. Supporting the Client throughout the project dealing with all processes to achieve compliance and delivering the service that the Client requires. AJNs strength lies in its multi-skilled personnel enabling all aspects of Survey and Architectural Design work to be provided from Condition, Asbestos, Structural, Building Surveys to Building Interior Design, Energy Assessments, Asset Management and Project Management. All our Surveyors and Architectural Technicians have experience and are qualied to professional standards. We undertake full risk assessment and Health & Safety requirements.

Background

AJN Design & Surveying Services was started in 2001 primarily providing design and surveying works to residential property and condition of asset surveys to Welsh Water. Today we continue to support residential development projects but are now involved with commercial design and construction from oce blocks to shop refurbishments. Our condition and maintenance models created for Welsh Water have been accepted and audited by Ofwat and we now provide our services to Northumbrian, Essex and Suolk and water utilities throughout the UK.

AJN is also committed to helping and supporting the environment both in its impact from an organisational perspective and designing healthier and ecient environments. AJN has also achieved accreditation with the British Standards Institute for ISO 14001.

Residential/Commercial Services
Building Surveying
A great depth of experience in Condition Surveys for multi asset owners as well as our housing experience in providing all types of surveys.

Tender Adjudication & Valuation

Additionally to our project management services we can present tender and specication works including contract creation. These services include regular valuations on completed works creation of interim payments and settling of nal accounts.

Architectural Design

We pride ourselves in coming up with the most exquisite solutions to any design requirement. If you are after the wow factor or the most ecient solution to maximise your property we can provide the designs. Our Architectural Technicians can provide the complete package of works from initial concept plans and 3D visuals to detailed working construction drawings.

Asbestos surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos

We can carry out all types of asbestos surveys which we will identify and provide you with a comprehensive asbestos register of any asbestos containing materials including materials that are presumed to contain asbestos, as well as recommending a management plan to manage any asbestos discovered. (Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 commercial property duty holders are required to manage asbestos in buildings under their control)

Thermal Imaging Surveying

Thermal imaging can provide rapid detailed information without the need of intrusive and costly investigations. We have qualied thermographers who can provide non-destructive testing covering a multitude of assessments including residential properties and industrial services.

We are able to provide rapid construction estimates for large and small projects including a full Quantity Surveying service.

Topographical / Land and Measured Building Surveys

AJN can provide a range of surveying services, utilising traditional methods and the latest equipment to produce well presented, accurate drawings that will clearly present in an easily understandable format the features surveyed. Services include topographical / land surveys, measured building surveys, as built surveys or check surveys.

The complete management of a construction programme from start to nish. As Project Managers we can ensure Client peace of mind by creating a one point contact between main contractors, subcontractors, architects and clients. Our Surveyors can provide a full Project Management service overseeing the day to day construction of a project ensuring that deadlines are met and construction programmes are followed.

AJN can oer CDM support for larger commercial projects so that Health and Safety regulations are complied with and met.

Industrial Services
Industrial Design
Having the aptitude to assist in a diverse range of design principles, to help with any aspects of the projects involved. Revealing the potential of any idea giving it creative direction.

At this present time AJN are involved in surveying assets for two major utility companies. The purpose of the surveys is to enable the deteriation modelling of the asset and determine risk and consequence of failure, allowing decisions to be made regarding repair or replacement of the equipment.

Engineering

Our experienced team of engineering surveyors can draw upon their considerable knowledge of working within the industrial sector to adapt to each customers needs.

Civil Structure Surveying

At AJN we are involved in surveying structures for utility companies to provide maintenance regimes and costs enabling Whole Life Cycle Cost techniques in maintaining these assets to be implemented. All our surveyors are conned space trained.

Water Industry Asset Data base Management

We at AJN have been involved in aiding the development of several water companies above ground asset databases encompassing a hierarchal structure and process order to the assemblies that make up the treatment process. We have the all encompassing expertise within the company to cover the Civil , Building , Electrical , Mechanical and ICA elements.

Water Industry Surveying

At AJN we have an in depth experience of the water industry we have carried out major surveys of above ground assets such as treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs. We have been involved identifying the equipment and structures on site and determining their remaining life, criticality, cost of replacement, risk of failure and consequence of failure.

Technology

AJN prides itself on the use of the most modern surveying technology available. For the rapid turnaround of data each Surveyor carries tablet PCs which can be used on site to instantly relay information such as photos or data directly to the Client. This technology improves the communication process ensuring that all parties are aware of situations immediately.
