Our dear friend, Roy Symes, had his speedo tick over
80 years this past week. A wonderful achievement.
Roy, we honour you for your dedicated, diligent and
prayerful investment in the life of our fellowship for
far longer than most us can remember. You are one
of those very special people who have laboured
faithfully for Jesus in attending to the needs of the church for many
decades. Your loyal and sacrificial service has never been taken for
granted. As we share with you in the joy of this milestone, we pray

Thank you everyone for your wonderful support of
Samaritans Purse Christmas Child project this
year. Special thanks to Mark Hurkmans for his
efforts in coordinating the whole Portland area, the Drop-Off Centre and
final collection, and to Robyn and Barb. You might have seen these
three smiling faces in last Mondays Observer!
Portland Baptist Church contributed a very generous 133 gift boxes, - 51
more than last year! - while the total for the Portland area was 453.
Many thanks to our Silver Threads ladies who have again quietly knitted
and sewed through the year, not only for their own numerous boxes, but
also sending fillers to the Samaritans Purse Mitcham centre. Thanks
also to all those who donated fillers - toys, clothing, bags, pencil cases,
stationery, toiletries etc. We pray for Gods blessing on each child
receiving a gift box, for their families and communities.

and the Bethany Fellowship in Obninsk!
I greet you all! Thank you for your prayerful support of
our family and our Church. The Church of God is really
growing. This year in our church were baptized 10 people,
mainly young brothers. We are finishing work on the
landscaping around the Church. This year has been a very
rainy summer and the lower level of the church building flooded. So we
decided to install storm drains in order to prevent this from happening.
On the 8th September, we had the opportunity to have a special day in
our Church. About 320 people attended and, on the same day, we
celebrated the 20 anniversary of our Church. We also blessed a new
deacon and his family at the service.
Thank you for your prayers for our children, they are good. Our
granddaughter is 18 months old now. In December we are expecting
another grandchild.
The rain has already started to fall pretty constantly. Hello to Portland
Baptist! We pray that God will bless you all,
