MATH TEST CORRECTIONS ALGEBRA & INDICES (CHAPTERS 1 AND 2) LEVEL 1-2 2. D. What I did wrong:

Explanation & What I can do to Improve: I had forgotten that any number that is raised to zero equals 1. So I just left the answer as a but that was incorrect. The proper answer is 1. I could improve by spending some time going over the basic math rules, because after a while of doing really hard things I tend to forget or mess up the easy ones.

Explanation & What I can do to Improve: Instead of multiplying the exponents, I added them, thats why had gotten 2a instead of a to the power of 2 also the 1, become an a because, a times 1 equals a. I could improve by spending some time going over the basic math rules, because after a while of doing really hard things I tend to forget or mess up the easy ones.

Explanation and How I can improve: I had gotten it wrong because I was not squaring, and cubing the exponents over 10, so that messed up my working out. I can improve by practicing similar problems and really working on understanding how it works so that I dont make these silly mistakes. LEVEL 7-8 11. A.

Explanations and how I can improve: I had gotten this answer wrong because instead of taking away an x I added one, making it 7x, not -5x. Also I subtracted from 7 rather than adding to get 8. B.

Explanation and How I can improve: I had not simplified the numbers and then carried the exponents so all my working was messed up. What I could do to improve is to study more on this topic because it was quite difficult for me. So the more I work on it the better. 12. A.

Explanation and how I can improve: I have to admit, I had no idea what I was doing. In the corrections though I simplified them into decimals the multiplied the ones on top then divided by the denominator. I could improve my studying this better and asking for help on this because I was having a hard time understanding it. B.( ) ( )

.95 Explanation and how I can improve: I simplified them into decimals (on the calculator) then multiplied them and got the answer. Like I said in the previous problem I could use some practice with these problems to really understand them because I was having a hard time. C. which is greater? What I did wrong: is bigger than not its because: is bigger than . but since its or ?

Correction:

is bigger than Explanation and how I could improve: I simplified the numbers as low as they could go, raised the exponents and then multiplied it to the original exponents. I compared the final results and this is what I got. Like I said, what I could do to improve would be to get some help with these kinds of problems because they are the ones I dont understand.
