I

am writing a comparison on the benefits of weight training and cardio exercise within the gym. The

gym is a great environment for people to get physically active and improve their state of well - being . There are many different people who walk into the gym every day. Have it be the young and old, the athletic and maybe the not - so - athletic. Overall, they come to exercise and are mutually engaged in similar kinds of activities. Personally, I have been a gym - rat since sophomore year of hig h - school which

is when I originally started working out. When it comes to exercise, people need to understand the real

benefits it has for the body. Weight training and cardio exercise are two excellent forms of exercise that

can improve a person’s well - be ing. Cardio exercise improves mental, physical and emotional health . A person’s resting heart rate is slowed down when they regularly engage in exercise. As cardio improves, one’s heart can now work more effectively with less effort involved and reduces t he risk of several heart diseases. In fact, research shows that one who regularly engages in exercise is forty - five percent less

likely to develop some sort of heart disease than someone who does not.

Cardio can help maintain a

person’s weight because it s uppresses appetite. This would be good for somebody trying to lose weight.

The mood of one is enhanced before, during and after a workout because oxygen - enriched blood is consistently being pumped throughout the body. Somebody who regularly engages in exercise promotes in better sleep. Studies show that this helps you fall asleep faster and engage in a deeper sleep cycle. On the other hand, one should not work out close to the time they go to bed because it can stimulate their

body too much and keep the m awake.

When it comes to one’s sex life, regular exercise helps men with

erectile dysfunction. Also, women are more aroused at a fit man compared to a man with a beer belly.

One should participate in physical activity at least thirty minutes per day.

Resistance exercise

(or weight training), is any exercise where muscles contract against an external

resistance with the goal of improving strength, tone, mass or muscular endurance. R esistance can come from dumbbells, weight machines, elastic tubin g or bands, cinder b locks, cans of soup, one’s own body weight , or any other object that causes muscles to contract. Results occur when you train daily over a

long period of time .

There a several different types of weight training exercise. For example, po wer

lifting is a conglomeration of squats, deadlifts and bench press that bodybuilders normally compete

against one another in.

There is a principle called the progressive overload which basically is the addition

of resistance (weight) on a muscle group in the gain for mass and bigger muscle. If someone was benching one - hundred pounds for ten repetitions for a week and by that second week that weight was too easy for them, they would add more weight which causes the building of muscle. Weight training is

very similar to cardio as it is still an exercise; however, there are many differences. Weight lifting causes

a different pattern of blood vessel responses within the body in comparison to aerobic exercise which is

an important aspect to cardiovascular he alth. Weight training also causes a longer - lasting drop in blood pressure.
