Sadowski Housing Coalition Congratulates Gadsden Countys Phyllis Moore on Award for Outstanding SHIP Administrator
Moore Honored for Excellence in Administrating Local SHIP Funds & Program at Board of County Commissioners Meeting Tallahassee, Fla. The Sadowski Housing Coalition congratulates Phyllis Moore, State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program administrator for the Gadsden County Community Development Department, on her award for Outstanding SHIP Administrator, which was announced at the Florida Housing Coalitions 26th Annual Statewide Affordable Housing Conference in Orlando, Fla., earlier this year and awarded locally during a Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Moore has led an exemplary career of public service, championing affordable housing for the community of Gadsden County and creating a model SHIP program for rest of the state. The Gadsden County SHIP program has made a tremendous difference by providing for adequate heating and a sanitary environment to frail and elderly homeowners, and has provided down payment and closing cost assistance to Gadsden County residents who could otherwise not afford to own a home. The 2013 SHIP Awards highlight the importance of SHIP for meeting the needs of Floridas hard working families and most vulnerable citizens throughout the state, and to recognize the substantial success that local housing programs are able to have when adequately funded, said Jaimie Ross, president of the Florida Housing Coalition and facilitator for the Sadowski Housing Coalition. We are proud to honor Phyllis for her unwavering leadership in administering the available Gadsden County SHIP funds and fostering partnerships to renovate homes for families in need and to provide sorely-needed assistance to those on the journey toward homeownership. Additional recipients of the 2013 SHIP Awards during the Florida Housing Coalitions 26th Annual Statewide Affordable Housing Conference were: Special Needs Housing Assistance Award: THE JACKSONVILLE SHIP HOUSING & ABILITY HOUSING OF NORTHEAST FLORIDA Shannon Nazworth, Executive Director
