0ome residents are concerned a,out the future light rail transit, which wont ,e ,uilt for more than 1 years and could change with the next /ransportation #lan (which must ,e reviewed every ) years+- %uch more important are items in the 8 14 ,udget that will improve commuter transit service starting next year through four funded items.irst, in 8 14 a new #ar* and Ride will ,e constructed on Innovation at /erry .ox0econd, preliminary plans call for the 9 express routes to ,e divided into two routes, reducing the travel time going through the community- :ne of these routes will use /erry .ox to ;untsville and then onto the /erry .ox 0tation and into :ttawa- /his will provide service that is faster, ,rings express service to new areas and provides additional routes to serve the /erry .ox #ar* and Ride/hird, the City has finally received agreement from the #rovincial %inistry of /ransportation to create a ,us lane for ,uses going onto the 41< eastward from the #inecrest interchange- /his will ,e ,uilt in 8 14 and reduce delays due to congestion/he fourth item has funding starting in 8 14 to complete the final design and then construction of the transitway from =ayshore to %oodie- :nce completed, in,ound ,uses will avoid the stop and go traffic on ,oth the 41< and ;olly 2cres- Construction will ta*e several years, ,ut this lin* will ,e opened ,efore the light rail to /unneys #asture is completed- Commuters will see a greatly reduced commute time in pea* hours-
