Tuttle Chiropractic in Peoria IL wants you to know about Coats for Kids. Coats for Kids is an annual community project that collects and distributes warm winter coats to eligible children and teenagers. This year Childrens Hospital of Illinois, in partnership with WEEK TV and The Salvation Army, are sponsoring the 28th annual Coats for Kids program to make sure that every child in our community has a winter coat this season. Used or new coats in childrens and young adult sizes are now being collected and cleaned until December 6. Over 32,797 coats have been collected, cleaned and given out to area children in need. Applications and coat distribution will be done at The Salvation Armys Fa mily Service Office at 417 N.E. Adams. There will be a mass distribution of the coats beginning Monday, November 4 at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center at 2907 W. Nebraska Avenue in Peoria. After the week-long distribution, the coats will be available for parents to pick-up when signing up for Christmas assistance at The Salvation Army. Coats for Kids and Families is a United Way initiative that began in 1992 due to overwhelming requests from families and individuals with limited resources in need of winter jackets.
