1.0 INTRODUCTION
The handbook gives all the installation and use instructions for DGM Console.

GENERAL WARNINGS

Before the installation and use of the equipment please carefully read the instructions given in this handbook. The manufacturer is not responsible of any possible operation not mentioned in this handbook Any failure or faulty operation would occur to the equipment, please refer to the authorized personnel for maintenance or directly to the manufacturer only. The manufacturer refuses all responsibility for any eventual injury and/or damage to things caused to the non-observance of the safety regulations. The assigned personnel is required to know all the safety regulations relative to the hereby described equipment. Any doubt may occur about the equipment running please refer to the authorized personnel for maintenance or directly to the manufacturer. Tampering releases the manufacturer from any responsibility in front of the competent authority.

This product is used in hazardous areas for risk of explosion and fire. Subterranean leakage of the fuel tanks may cause serious damages to environment and injury.

2.0 MAIN TECHNICAL FEATURES

Levels and alarms monitoring Console for tanks. It manages on a serial bus up to 16 level gauges with 4 programmable relays outputs. Moreover, the DGM Console can be connected with the main Forecourt management Systems existing on the market.

3.0 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

In case of hydrocarbour vapour use anti-sparks tools The installation must be realized by specialized people Respect the safety rules Read carefully the instruction given in this manual The manufacturer is not responsable for any damage and/or supplementary costs due to the missing respect of the supplyed instructions. The probe is supplyed with 3 mt of cable (1) jointly via a cable gland (2) ex-proof to the probe head. This cable must be connected to the back bone using a junction box and ex-proof cable gland. It is raccomended not to cut the cable for an easy estraction of the probe from the tank in case of maintainance. It is raccomended the usage of junction box JB IP68 supplied by Start Italiana under request. Insert the cable in the console in the locking joint (4).

4.4 MARKING AND SERIAL NUMBER Every Console has an unique identification serial number (S.N.) The serial number is written on the label in the cap head.

4.6 TARGET BATTERY ACTIVATION - REED SWITCH POSITION (OPTION)

If the battery is present in the device, put the external magnet in the corrispondence of the label to activate the power supply in case of missing of the main power supply. Keep alive the display only the minimum time requested to watch the data, after that move away the magnet from the target.

5.0 WIRING PCB CARD

To connect the device, do it in the folowing way: 1. unscrew the cover of the enclosure 2. remove the 4 cross head screws that block the CPU card 3. lift the CPU card WARNING: BE CAREFUL DONT STRESS THE FLATCABLE CONNECTION LINKED TO THE DGM POWER SUPPLY CARD BELOW 4. proceed to connect in accordino to the drawing connections 5. to program the serial connection RS232 on CN4 through the proper cable supplied

6.0 MECHANICAL INSTALLATION

If mixed with air, the inflammable vapours may cause explosion. Hazardous areas may be originated therefore by the presence of gas or vapours. Explosions or fire may cause damages, even lethal. The Console DGM can be installed in explosion hazard areas in according to the enclosed Atex certification

6.1 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Fix the Console on the wall using the holes of the enclosure.

To realize the electrical wirings, proceed in the folowing way: Switch off power supply from the electrical panel. Make the connections between the panel power supply dedicated explosion proof cable glands. The power supply wire must be at least 1,5 mm2

7.0 Console Config SOFTWARE

The software Console Config is an utility free of charge which is needed for Digimon configuration. This software allows to set the Tank name, product, alarm trip points, relays, stripping table, making easier and faster the Console configuration. All the downloaded data are stored inside the Console in a non-volatile memory so that the settings have to be done only at once. The software doesnt need any installation, simply copy the executable file on you pc and run it. An available serial RS232 COM port is needed for the connection between the pc and the Console. It is suggested to use a pc in which there is COM port real available. In the new notebook normally the COM port is not placed as standard; in these cases you can use a USBCOM port RS232 adapter; be careful to install its own driver sold together with the adapter before inserting the USB converter in to the socket. If the Console is off, or the cable is not connected, or the COM port number is wrong the following screen will appear with the information Device disconnected. You should check if the Console is on and if it is connected. At this point you should check on your computer the serial port NUMBER you are using, and also be careful that no other application is taking it busy. In order to do this you have to use the Control Panel, Hardware resources, and see the COM port number. In the software select the proper COM port number. If it is OK, like in the below examples it is nr. 4, automatically in the status yellow bar will be written Device connected and all the data that there are in the Console are uploaded.

You can also choose the language which can be Italiano or English. Now lets take a look on the various field of the program Tank: Select the tank number you want to configure. Description: Write the Tank name up to 16 character, space are allowed. This will appear in the display during the running. Address: write the serial number indicated on the cap of the probe. Product: choose the product in the list you have in the tank. This is useful for the compensated volume at 15C calculation, which will be performed directly in real time by the Console. This selection tells to the Console what cubic expansion coefficient it has to use for the calculation. Total capacity and Tank height: are read only fields and they are updated accordingly to the last line written in the Strapping Table. Offset mm: once the probe is installed in the tank write here the difference in millimeter between the value shown by the probe and the value written to the mechanical dip stick. This is needed for the measure allignement, so that the probe will always show the same measure measured by the mechanical dip stick. This is also useful for the mm-lt calculation. The offset value will be added or subtracted to both product and water level. Zero Water: write here in millimeter the value to aligne the water. This value will be subtract from the water reading. If the results is negative the displayed value will be 0. Alarm definition: in this section you find Alarm HH (very high level), Alarm H (high level), Alarm L (low level), Alarm LL (very low level) and water alarm. Write in the respective fields the values in millimeter for which the alarm is setted. A zero value will disable the alarm. Alarm HH is valid only if the Alarm H is setted. Alarm LL is valid only if the L alarm is setted. Once the alarm is activated, on the display during the running the alarm which is occourring will be shown.

If the alarm is setted then you can choose and set the corrispondent relay. Select the alarm type you want the relay is programmed on. Only the first 4 relay are available. From the 5th to the 16th relay their setting is not used because in the Digimon only 4 relays are available. The relays remains activated for all the time the alarm is active. When all the above mentioned settings are done click on the button Write data in device to download the configuration the Console memory.

Strapping table: The Console has the facility to calculate the volume starting from the height as linear interpolation between two adiacent points. To do so you have to download the table. You have to follow few rules in order to download correctly the table: The maximum number of points is 250 No decimal values are allowed The table has to be written in excel or in notepad as txt document. Here is a format example: 00000;00000 00020;00100 00040;00200 00060;00300 ..;.. 04940;24700 04960;24800 04980;24900 05000;25000

In this case the total capacity will become 25000 and the total height will become 5000. If you write in excel remember to save it in csv (MS-DOS) format or in text (MS-DOS separated) format, and then check if the format is the one as shown above. When the table is saved as specified above you have to click on the button Import table and follow what is asked by the program. Once you have the table shown on the screen you have to click on the button Write table on device On the screen will appear the message Please wait writing table on device for some seconds, when the message will disappear the download is ended and you can go on with other. You have the possibility to Read data from device in case you want to upload the table which is in the device. You have also the possibility to Export table for future usage.
