Command Sergeant Major Ray Middleton was born in Brooklyn, New York. He entered
the United States Army in December of 1977. He has an Associate Degree in General
Studies and is pursuing a Bachelor degree in Business Management. He was the
distinguished graduate for both Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, and the
Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.

His military education includes: Primary, Basic, and Advanced Noncommissioned


Officer Courses, Airborne School, Drill Sergeant School, Nuclear Biological Chemical
School, Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, First Sergeant Course, Battle
Staff Course, and the Garrison sergeants Major Course. He is a graduate of the U.S.
Army Sergeants Major Academy and the Command Sergeants Major Course.

His assignments includes duties as Cannonner Crewman, B Battery, 2D Battalion, 8th

Alpha Company, 4th Battalion, 26th Infantry Brigade, Fort Dix, NJ; Platoon Sergeant,
Truck Master, and First Sergeant, 78th Transportation company, Russelsheim, Germany;
Equal Opportunity Advisor, and First Sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters
Company, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD; First Sergeant, 25th Transportation
Movement Control Agency, Seoul, Korea, First Sergeant, 119th Transportation Company,

Achievement Medal-2, National Defense Service Medal-2, Armed Forces Expeditionary

Kuwait Expeditionary Medal, Kuwait Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism
Expeditionary Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Meritorious Unit
Commendation.
