Marguerite, Marilois and Archie Fairbrother


The Fairbrothers are preparing to enter the service
of the Lord in Tibet. Graduates of Lincoln Bible Insti

tute, they have served two years at the Churcli in Ohambcrsburg, Illinois. Archie Fairbrother, a native of "Wisconsin, dedicated his life to his Lord in early youth and has devoted the

years since to training for full time service. Marguerite Fairbrother, the daughter of former missionaries, 'Dr. and Mrs. N. H. Bare, was born on the
border of Tibet and spent twelve years among the Tibet ans, a people whom she knows and loves. Marilois joined the Fairbrothers on January 15,1949.

The Fairbrothers plan to sail to India early this Fall with Miss Gladys Schwake, R. N., and Miss Dorothy Uhlig, R. N. They will cross India to the Tibetan Border to join Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Nichols.

Marilois

ARCHIE

Archie was bom June 24, 1923, at Oconto Fallsi, Wisconsin, and was born into the body of Christ at the age of ten. Ten years later he
dedicated his life to full time service of the Lord. He attended Johnson Bible College a year and then transferred to Lincoln Bible Institute

where he received his degree. He served the Church Lt Chambersburg, Illinois for two years and resigned in order to devote all his time to pre paring for service in the foreign field. His resignation was accepted
regretfully by the elders of the church who recommended the Fair-

brothers highly for the work they have chosen to do.


MARGUERITE

Marguerite began- her life January 26, 1928, on the mission field at Batang, Sikang, West China, where her parents, Dr. and Mrs. N. H. Bare, were serving the Lord. She came to America in the summer of 1941 and began her high school education that fall. In the spring of
1950 she received her degree from Lincoln Bible Institute. Her desire has always been to return to the Orient in the service of the^ Lord.
MARILOISJOY

Marilois wias born January 15, 1949, at Beardstown, Illinois. She has already visited nine midwestem states, and expects to see quite
a bit more of the United States before she leaves.
JEWEL ALINE

Jewel joined the Fairbrothers on August 1, 1950, at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She started traveling! at the age of three weelts and has been
going ever since.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

The Fairbrothers plan to sail to India by April 1st. Their work in Assam will emphasize the training of native evangelists and Christian workers. There will also be a primary school, for at present the child
ren of Christian families must attend Catholic or denominational schools.
A JEEP FOR ASSAM

Going from village to village to visit the churches and to start new ones will require a jeep. The rough hilly teirain necessitates a vehicle that can take it. Those who are interested in a jeep for Assam should designate their gifts for that purpose.

WHERE WE WILL WORK

Assam is in the northeastern part of India, and is bordered on the east by Burma, on the north by the Himalayas. Shillong, the capital, the city where we plan to locate is 9,990 feet above Sea level land has a population of 9000. The population of Assam is 10,204,733 according
to the 1941 census.

One thousand people of this country read the New Testament and took it for what it said. They foundi the Church as, Christ would have it, but when they tried tci follow the pattern, they were informed that they were the only peoplei foolish enough to follow, that idea. They established eight churches with the largest having a membership of 350. Then they came in contact with the Central Provinces India Mis sion, and rejoiced to find others of like precious faith.
ON, THE FIELD

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Nichols were driven out, of Tibet' by the Com munists. They crossed from the China side of Tibet to the India side looking* for a place to continue serving the Lord. They saw the need in Assam and heard the call to help there.

FOUNDATION

The foundation of the work we plan to do in, Assam is, faith. We must have the faith th^it thei Word of God is the power of God unto
salvation if we are to impart it to others. It is the will of God that

guides us into this field of labor, and we will work with the Central Provinces India Mission for the glory of God.

dard" that Mr. and Mrs. Archie Fairbrother, of Oconto Falls, Wis.,

are to be associated with uis in the Central Province India Mission, with
Assam, India, as their specific area of work. The Fairbrothers are to assume the leadership of the mission work among the one thousand Christians who have read themselves out of denominationalism, as

reported by Ben E. Schiller in the "Christian Standard".

Their first

task will be the training of the ministers in the Bible College! already started there and the guiding of the Churches in their growth and

training, as well as the task of opening many new congregations.


The Fairbrothers plan to leave for India April 1, 1951. The task

and opportunity is too urgent for them to spend several years in)raising
funds and getting acqainted with the Churches. THIS OPPORTUNITY MUST BE MET NOW. Funds for their going to Assaan, India should be sent to their forwarding agent, Mrs. N. H. Bare, Box 112, Chagrin

Falls, Ohio at once. And two churches shotild take their living link
support of $100 each per month at once so government requirements
may be met and they may proceed to India as planned.
Archie and Marguerite Fairbrother are both graduates of Lincoln

Bible Institute, and are well qualified for the opportunity that is theirs.
Mrs. Fairbrother is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bare who served

many years on the Tibetan Border, and she was born there.
We know of no work which deserves closer interest and generous

assistance, than this modem phaze of the restoration movement, which,

if we avail ourselves; of the opportunity, will grow into the. thousands
