Director of Childrens Ministries Resigns
It is with sincerest regrets that we acknowledge the resignation of Hannah Martin, who had been directing our Childrens Ministry for the past year. Her letter, stating her intentions, was received by your Elders last week. Hannah has an opportunity to work with a congregation that will allow her to live nearer to her parents, in Kentucky. Hannahs final Sunday, with us, will be November 24.

THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

It has been a great joy having Hannah Martin as our Childrens Director. Hannah served faithfully at FACC for the past fifteen months as she taught children about Jesus and planned activities for them and the teens. She worked tirelessly to provide your children with Biblical teaching in a creative way. She will be missed. This past Sunday we announced her resignation. We wish her the best wherever God leads her into full-time work. Her last Sunday will be November 24th. That is the same day of our annual Thanksgiving banquet. We want to give you an opportunity to say thanks to Hannah so that night we encourage you to send her away with a love gift. If you want to give her a letter of encouragement or a gift card, we will have a basket prominently placed for you to do so. One of the most beautiful promises in all of Scripture is Revelation 21:4: "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." One day all pain will be gone. All sorrow will be gone. All mourning will be gone. That is the promise from God. There will be no more physical or emotional painno pain from a broken body or a broken heart, no more broken marriages, and no more broken lives. Why? Because God will make all things new. Here is the promise of God to you: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). You change when you truly follow Jesus. Old values, ideas, plans, loves, desires, and beliefs vanish, and they are replaced by new things. You have a new desire to know God and learn more about Him and a new desire to be led by the Holy Spirit and be used by God. You have a new desire to bring glory to Godand yes, even a new desire to one day see God in heaven. I hope you have a great day. In His Service, Brad

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

KEENAGERS IN NOVEMBER: Mark your calendar and plan to be a part of the annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 24.
SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY:

We are continuing our studies of some outstanding New Testament conversion characters. This week (November 10), our subject is A Repentant Thief (Luke 23:3243). On November 17, Rich Teske and some students from Ohio University campus ministry will be our special guests. On November 24, we will be having our annual fellowship dinner. On December 1, I plan to present the final study in our current series, Reaching the Immoral One (Luke 7:3650). In December, I will begin a new series titled, Meet the Prophets. Please be reminded that we have activities for children at this same hour each Sunday evening. Communion is available for those who desire it. WEDNESDAY STUDIES: We are continuing our midweek groups at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. We are, currently, engaged in A Brief Survey Of Old Testament History. We are utilizing a study outline. Why not come join us? FINAL THOUGHT: The true value of horse sense is shown by the fact that the horse was afraid of the automobile during that period when pedestrians laughed at it.

A congregational meeting will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 following each morning worship hour to elect officers and approve the budget for 2014.

Last week in Childrens Church we learned about how God sees everything. We cant play Hide n Seek with Him and we cant wear masks to disguise ourselves. God sees what is behind the mask, but he still loves us so much! Psalm 139 We are looking for people to help out with putting the float together as well as helping with some other jobs for the Christmas Parade coming up on November 23rd! Please contact me or Marie Huffman if you can help out! Hannah

As we remember the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy's assassination, our book for November is Bill O'Reilly's bestselling Killing Kennedy. It reads like a novel, but it's packed with truth and action. Even if you lived through the event or have heard the story told dozens of times over the years, you'll learn something you didn't know about this tragedy that changed our nation forever. Be with us at the Book Nook on Monday, November 25, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the book and share our memories.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside down. We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information about our great church, contact our minister, Brad Seevers at Brad@new-churches.org or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a great week and may God bless your life.

Servant-Minded Volunteer/ Volunteers Needed!

There are two areas of service in the church that are in need of a leader. One position is to take responsibility for decorating the church at Christmas and Easter. We all enjoy these special times of the year and your help would bring great joy to all. Also, in order to continue with the tradition of live flowers in the sanctuary during Christmas and Easter, we are in need of a volunteer or volunteers to take responsibility for this ministry. The task includes taking orders, collecting funds and arranging for delivery to the church. The sanctuary always looks lovely with flowers; however, we will not be able to continue if we dont have someone to take on this task. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please contact Julie Stuck at 654-2409 or e-mail at fjstuck@sbcglobl.net as soon as possible.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are: Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through gracebased preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and SoonComing King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
