"#$%&!'! Smith, Evan Ms. Rhude English Period 5 11 October, 2012 CAREER RESEARCH PROJECT PROPOSAL!

Proposed Research Topic: A research project to understand the path to becoming a stock speculator, trader, and investor. Purpose: The occupation can be practiced outside of a major study. I find stocks, trading, and investing incredibly fascinating and feel as though I could make use of capitalism in this field. Additionally, the employment doesnt have a cap or maximum income (or a single boss). Background: Professional stock traders in a financial company are often required to pass a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Administrated Series 63-65 exam. Often times, theyre expected to have familiarity with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations and practices. Added, they often have a four-year degree in a financial, accounting, or economics field. Scope: I will interview my father, who majored in economics and knows the field in great detail. I will look at several sources (online and in physical text) to see the occupation in its most discernible application. Theoretical Framework: Within the interviews, I will find the specific obstacles on the work environment that those who work in this profession face. This will hopefully encourage me to pursue the career further, or perhaps search for new opportunities to make a considerable income.

"#$%&!(! Method: 1) Perform an Internet search on the majors/colleges that favor economics and stock affiliated programs. 2) Conduct an Internet search on the general specifics of the occupational environment 3) Continue such research in physical text. 4) Interview one who is tremendously informed on the topic. 5) Analyze and conclude from the data whether the profession is for me. 6) Write a research paper that shows my full understanding of the research. Timetable: Activity Prepare proposal by Time line completed Business Letter and Resume completed by First annotated bibliography completed by Literature review completed by Reflection and final report completed by Turn in portfolio by Give presentation on October 12, 2012 October 12, 2012 October 16, 2012 October 17, 2012 October 22, 2012 November 13, 2012 November 13, 2012 November 13-16, 2012 Date

Limitations: There may be difficulties finding more than one person associated with the form of employment. Too, it might be complicated to find a perfect time to interview those who could provide useful insight to the profession.

"#$%&!)! ! Delimitations: I am choosing a relatively broad occupation, and those who arent necessarily stockjobbers still have relative understanding of how the job works. This will allow me to obtain more information and learn more specifically about what subdivision of the field interests me most.
